True, but if you had someone to play with.......

Just as a curiosity how much HP has been recorded from those engines? IIRC didn't we hear or read about one with over 500 hp?

There are many with 500 HP but the cost is high as a good tuner is required to properly “marry” all the mods.

300 ft. lbs of torque (stage 2 mods) is achievable at a reasonable cost with the OEM turbo.  A stage 3 involves adding a turbo and fuel pump to the same mods for 350 HP. I’m not going to do that this time despite how well my 2002 ran.

Just trying to understand what you mean?  Do you mean when this model was out (pre-2000) that they didn't do a turbo model over there?  IMHO this is the best looking of the early Impreza's, the one that the RB5 and P1 was based on, yes it was £5k sterling.

I suppose it is cheap, after driving it I think it's very good value for money, remember used sales have no tax here, don't know about Canada, what could I have got for $11k there?

I've also heard that 350 bhp is easily do able, not that I'm going to even attempt to try...


P.S. The best bit, even the missus loves it, she was giggling like mad after flooring the throttle! She's amazing, like one of those fantasy wives that says, "You look a bit down, go out and buy a fast car, you deserve it."  :rofl2:  :heart:

$11k over here would buy you an early or mid-nineties Impreza...  even a 98 2.5RS (non-turbo, but the 2.5L engine) asks no less than $12k...
