SirCivic may be right as what if they were all another website and were directed here? This is the best car related website In the world  to usually state yor opinions or get the point across. A IP check will prove it out either way.  :)

Hi all,

I've been getting quite a few enquiries / complaints here at the Used Car Dealer Association of Ontario (from consumers and dealers) about this and other companies using this approach.  At present they seem to be coming from out West (Alberta and BC) as the "who is" searches show for their URLs.

I have had calls about the following:

• Canadian Auto Registries
• Auto Finder
• Buy Great Autos Inc.
• Buycarsnow
• canadaautoapproved

I have referred consumers in Ontario to the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council www.omvic.on.ca and RCMP Scam Reporting  http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/scams/index_e.htm or Phone Busters 888-495-8501 and consumers in BC to the motor vehicle council there (http://mdcbc.ca/index.html) enquiry@mvsabc.com and consumers in Alberta (http://www.amvic.org/) to AMVIC at bhamilton@amvic.org

Hope that is of some help!

Got scammed by Buycarsnow? Please read.

Like many, our son also got suckered into this scam. (July 07) The same old sales pitch about matching buyers with sellers, 90-day money back guarantee, how could you go wrong? … blah, blah, blah. Ya right... $299 and didn't receive one single call from the Buycarsnow listing. Jumped thru hoops to meet their return policy rules. Mailed in on time only to have it returned as "undeliverable". The usual phone calls, faxes, complaints & “BS” until your blue in the face.

To put things in perspective, you have a better chance of sticking butter up a pole cats a** with a hot poker than getting your money back from these slime balls.

Here's the good news, we finally got our $299 back from Visa & NOT from Buycarsnow. Yes, Visa originally "sluffed" us off exactly like some previous posters mentioned. As a last ditch effort, I advised Visa in no uncertain terms that I would cancel my Visa card if they did not take action as we both knew very well Buycarsnow were scammers. Finally, they took me seriously and had me fax all the documents to them. It took a while but a credit finally showed up on my Visa statement.

As a final note, my heart goes out to all the people who got scammed by these slime balls. Furthermore, hats off to all those folks who took the time & effort to report them. I have no doubt all the previous complaints were paramount to us receiving our money back from Visa.

Don't burry your head in the sand, you can make a difference!

Big, big lesson learned here.
Sincerely,
Stewartski

These guys keep calling me, three of the five above have already.
Has anyone ever sold a car throw these guys?

Hi all,

Update:

Last night CBC Radio reported that Canadian Auto Finder and Andreopoulos, the "owner", are under investigation here in Canada and the US.

http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2007/05/centurion.shtm

Apparently, CBC TV plan to air something on it tonight at 6 pm:  "CBC's I-Team digs deeper into the case of a man convicted of telemarketing fraud in the U.S. who is now doing business in Canada."  This may be just in Manitoba though.

The question is how can such companies operate up here!!!

Saw the story on CBC Newsworld this morning. This guy (and his company) are con artists plain and simple.

I had just listed my car ad on autotrader and got a call from Global Auto Registry... a guy named Matt Reed said he had a for sure deal with someone already approved and the potential buyer would pay my asking price but however if I want I could pay an extra $50 on top of the $299 to get platinum package... huh? I knew I wasn't a spring chicken anymore but hoped my hearing wouldn't go yet... I thought he just said had someone already lined up to buy my car??? Naturally he wanted my Visa number right away blah blah blah... I then pretended to be hard of hearing and kept asking him to repeat... he got peeved and then I said I don't have my credit cards on me and would call him back... Man, anything that sounds too good to be true is usually not true! Checked the web and lots of references on the scammers... they were under a lot of different names and even have a semi slick website... avoid at all cost!

"Attention all Global Auto Registry Clients.  Due to a technical error with our telephone service provider, our toll free number is down and is expected to be back up and running within the next 24 hours.  Thank you for your patience with this matter. Monday, April 7th, 2008"

In other words:  Stop :censor:' calling us, we stole your money.
