I am anal with things like this because of my profession and keep records (in excel) of fuel consumption.

My numbers are in km/l because I refused to yield to some pointy-headed bureaucrat who decreed that the standard should be the contra-logic L/100km.  So you can do your own conversion if you like.

My turbo Miata runs about 12.5 km/l in the summer and 11 km/l in the really cold weather

My G35x all wheel drive runs about 9.5 km/l in the summer and about 8.4 in arctic conditions

Both cars are about 35% highway, balance suburban driving.

Both my wife and I are lead foots once the engine warms up.

Wife's Solara is averaging 10.1L/100 over last number of tanks (per the computer readout). My HL does about 12 to 14L/100 in town and about 8 to 10 on the hiway but I haven't checked it lately. The Mustang - who cares; the way I drive it probably about 20.  ;D ;D

No, thanks; not worth the bother. If I told you that my car gets 0.5 furlongs to the dram, would you bother to convert that? Didn't think so.  ;)

BTW, there's a very good reason why most of the world measures fuel economy in terms of fuel consumed per unit of distance travelled. And it's got nothing to do with pointy-headed bureaucrats.

Oh yeah..., my average for the Civic is 9.3 l/100kms. That's just for this past winter, and about a 50/50 mix of city/highway driving (it's a 1.6-litre four, with a manual transmission). Over the years, depending on how it's been driven, I've seen anywhere from 7 to 17 litres/100kms.

Got it checked. Spark plugs okay. Air filter was slightly dirty, changed. Fuel filter okay. Minor cracks in the throttle body but they weren't leaking, throttle body cleaned. O2 sensors etc. are fine. No engine codes.

Doesn't seem like anything was really out of whack. Probably all the little things (cold weather, short city hops, heating and rear window defogger) conspiring against me. :(

Still, its miserable.

My all-time average is 7.946 L/100 km's in my Mazda3 (2.3 litre, 5 speed manual).  1,962 Litres yielded 24,691 km's.

I drive 80% city.  All shifts less than 3,000 rpm.

I'm very happy with my gas mileage (consumption?), as the car is rated at 9.3 city, 6.8 highway.

Total   1,961.918   $1,940.77   24,691.0

Average   42.650            $42.19            536.761   7.94588

Highest   47.400            $53.30            645.4             8.781
Lowest   22.714            $19.22            271.1             6.761

My average is 7.82l/100km for the past almost 17 months. I keep a detailed spreadsheet. The vast majority is short (<6km) in town drives with hilly terrain.  The A/C is used extensively, especially during the Oct-April period due to high humidity and wet driver and dog. The worst tank was 8.97 with all in-town driving, snow, rain, and high winds, A/C on constantly. Yaris, slushbox.

With a new (still under 2000 km) Kia Rondo I'm getting circa 11L/100 km on the highway, closer to 15 in the city with a V6 automatic.  I'm actually curious how much such things as heated seats and AC might contribute to consumption.

Ok, for the past 10 months with the Tribute the average is 10.6L/100Km. I don't drive the same route as the OP though :shuffle:

I don't keep track of the fuel consumption per distance travelled, it all depends how heavy the right foot is. Filled up the ix and the CX-7 2 days ago, under $90 for both, should last about 5 days for the Mazda, 2 or 3 days for the ix.

2005 Mazda 6 Wagon (3L V6)

Total kms on car = 66,196kms

Average = 9.64 L/100
Best = 6.39L/100 (From Denver Colorado to Green River, Utah)
Worst = 18.84 L/100 (A lot of hard throttle + a lot of red line = a lot of gas)
Most days between filling up = 21

Side note: I'm shocked at the few people that actually drive to work and yet it isn't far enough to warm up their car  ::)

The 1.6EL gets 8L/100km in the winter, 8.5 if I get impatient.  Drops to 7L in the summer, and as low as 6L if I try to economize.

The X-Trail gets 10.5 in the winter, and drops below 8.5 in the summer.

That would be me.  ;D simple home-work-home commute seems like a very short distance.

I drop off my son at daycare, Her Majesty the wife and I work at the same company and its not on an easy TTC route, takes 40 minutes to get by TTC. Then we come back, pick up our son and drop off Her Majesty to the university etc etc.  :)

Making 12L/100 on the city and something like 7L/100 on the highway. I make around 30 km per day with lots of stop and go (not so fast, it would be more like stop................................................go, heheeheh) on the way back home.

First post here, hi guys and girls.

Oppps, thought i'd updated that info on my profile, fixed now, is a Civic EX 2000 AT.

sirAQUAMAN64

No, 100% gas here. You know something, that flex fuel thing we get here is good for outsiders to look and say "ohhh , they can fill up with both fuels" but the real thing is that the engine doesn't feel perfect with neither of both fuels. And with the astronomic prices of fuel here, some people with flex-fuel engines never fill up with gas, only alcohol.

Just for the record, gas here goes for R$2,45/L and alcohol goes for R$1,45/L, that's pretty darn high. Car prices here are ridiculously high too.
