I don't know what to say...

Well, she's gone.  Sold before the mileage got too high and various other small reasons but mainly 'cos I've had my fun.  Went on Tuesday, picked up from work on a flat-bed truck, a very sad day indeed...  Cry Cry Cry

It's been a great couple of years, I've never owned a car so pure in it's design, all the reviewers of these cars leave them stunned with how focused they are on pure driving, and I've got to agree.

The steering feel is second to none, the Toyoto engine raw and menacing but still faultless, never used a drop of oil.

I remember my post when I got it, I was like a kid in a candy shop, and you were all very kind with your comments.  Link below:
http://www.canadiandriver.com/forum/index.php/topic,28360.0.html
I remember when I picked it up, I was so scared to drive in the rain!

Well on to pastures new, the (14 year old) Peugeot will do for now (wife still has the Honda), I'll see how the next few months pan out.  I won't be buying anything that amazing for a good long while yet.

The trip to Le Mans was the pinnacle for me, a combination of a great road trip, getting the boys together, sun, beer and fast cars, a very memorable experience. Oh well, better go before I get too emotional, need to get my home broadband set up as I'm missing this forum too much!

This had the missus in tears...

P.S. So they sell Lotus's in Canada then...  Smiley

I'm sorry for our loss.

Was that a slip?  Then again, maybe not because we all are hurting over this.

Look on the bright side, SsB, at least now you can get back into the "shopping" market again!!

I know the Lotus was a "pure" car and you had a blast with it. It's sad for you to let it go - but I know for me, that kind of car is something you own for a few years, have some fun, and move on. You're moving on, and that's positive. There is lots of fun stuff, without the "rawness" of the Lotus.

The majority of posters on here loved your car and envied you having it. Not me, I kept quiet so as not to hurt any feelings, but I could never warm to that car; which means I guess I am past the stage of wanting to hurl myself down the country road with little regard for some creature comforts. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I wager your next ride, while "fun", will be a little less "pure".

That's because your cars have a/c, power windows, power top, power steering, stereo, HID's, power locks, keyless entry, leather seating surfaces etc.  Wink
