Transmission Warranty - 2001 Accord

Well, I received a letter today in the mail, from Honda Canada. It looks like they extended the Transmission warranty AGAIN for my 2001 Accord!

I am sure everyone who is familiar with Honda knows that Honda extended the warranty on their automatic transmission, for a number of vehicles (Odyssey, Accord, Prelude, etc.) It was extended to 160,000 kms or 84 months - As of today, its been extended to 175,000 kms or 93 months.

Did any other Accord/Prelude/Odyssey/w/e owners receive this?

It's very common knowledge among the used car trade that the Prelude triptronic was/is an absolute bag of bolts guaranteed to fail.

What engine do you have; 4 or 6 banger?

Although it's bad to hear of all tranny issues with certain Hondas, it's nice to see they're extending warranty.

Just make sure your vehicle if bought used is registered with Honda Canada to get the extended coverage.

We got the 2.3 L 4cyl.  :) Very smooth for a 4cyl engine. Its currenty has approx. 63,000 kms  :o

Yep, we registered it when we purchased it in 2004.
