CRV Hybrid?
« on: February 21, 2007, 08:19:16 am »
Will Honda be making a hybrid for the CRV?
I have tried to google but did not find anything
Why would I get a CRV instead of a Civic
The Crv is high, makes easier to get in and out of
CRV is like a small wagon,

Probably see their fancy new diesel before a hybrid option.

When Honda starts selling diesels n North America (by the 2009 model year at latest) you will likely see a diesel CR-V, also Pilot. No plans I am aware of for a Hybrid CR-V.

CRV is already fairly good on gas mileage, you'd figure it would be more beneficial to have Pilot Hybrid.  Wonder if this technology will come to minivans soon?

Is this confirmed 100% for the CRV?  If so, that's great news.

Also, any idea of the price premium for the diesel versions?  and would the engine be available on all trim levels, or just one?

It seems to me that minivans would be the best use of hybrid technology.  The vast majority of their use is in urban/suburban areas (with plenty of stop-and-go driving), and they have tons of interior room (so the battery packs aren't the major space liability that they are in a sedan).  It would be VERY easy for Honda to drop the Accord Hybrid powertrain into the Odyssey.  I'm almost surprised that they haven't done so already.  It would be a chance for Honda's hybrid division to lead the way instead of playing "me too" with Toyota's.

No kidding...my Sienna needs one for sure...maybe be the real factoid is that the manufacturers know even with the Hybrid, the Sienna (probably for any MV for that matter) would still pig out way more than 10L/100km.
