:o  I had no idea that Astras and Focuses were so popular over there.

I've heard that the european Focus platform is supposed to be quite reliable....  a far cry from what we have here.

I've heard that the european Focus platform is supposed to be quite reliable....  a far cry from what we have here.

The Focus has received a reliability rating of "average" for every model year since 2001, according to the latest publication from Consumer Reports.  Considering how poorly the vast majority of European cars sold in North America do in Consumer Reports ratings, I wonder if this alleged fantastic reliability of the European Focus is a commentary on it itself, or on its European competition.

The Euro Focus is a Mazda 3 under the skin which might explain it. NA only gets the ur-Focus.

I am not surprised about the brand list at all.

As for the car list, I'd bet that if the list was further subdivided by engine type it would be diesels most of the way down

Can't help but notice that VW sells about as many cars there as what Canadians bought last year from all makes. I know, not relevant, but..... ;D ;)

No, no, no.

Canada will get the same funny looking thing called Focus (C170)  as USA market.  The C2 or MKIII redesigned Focus is due in world markets 2009/10, and then in North America 2011.
