Any small block GM engine can be tuned real easy and for a lot less then most of the others.  :)

Indeed but the motor weighs 500+lbs all by its self. My Seven will weigh slightly more than double that with 120hp - vroom, vroom

(I had a '78 Z28 with breathed on 350cid V8 - lots of fun)

Maybe the Corvette Barrie....but the solid rear axle GMs aren't easy or cheap to make them handle well.  The Mustang also had a live rear and handled better than a Camaro or Trans-Am, and even those are pretty involved getting them to handle....
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

Were you driving side by side with him?  :)

No, he was going in the other direction, but judging by how quickly he was passing other cars and the sound (easily 5000 rpm), I'm sure he was 100+. Top speed on level road was 113 mph - it was modified.  ;D ;D

If he was in Victoria, maybe he was doing 30Km/h then?  :) And what kinda 'math' is that?  :) Very difficult for me come up with an argument since the answer is not scientifically calculated.  :D

Not Victoria - North Van(couver)!! He was going!!  :o :o  IIRC, the speed limit was 60 or 65 mph then and there and traffic flow was a bit faster. This would have been about 1974.

People still speed test bikes and porsches (famous Carrera GT incident) on the Upper Levels (which I take to work everyday).   Limit is 80/90 kph, but traffic flows at 100-110 kph and is clear at night (go for a spin Friday night at 2am and you'll see lots of speed).

The original Mini

How could one get this many posts into a thread like this without the Mini????? Ptui!

Any car that can be made to get 100bhp at the wheels from 850 cc with no forced induction...

From a UK perspective of course the Ford Escort and Cortina from the late 60's would be right up there as well

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

With EVIL handling.  Any car with worse lift off oversteer than an early 911 or corvair is out to kill you.  But I agree, the fastest fire pump engine in the world!

I agree Saf.  I borrowed one for several weeks and drove the $hit out of it as well and I agree that it required a heavy right foot.

It only scared the $hit out of 1071cc coopers not 1275s
