Any small block GM engine can be tuned real easy and for a lot less then most of the others.  :)

Except for the Supra..!!!!!!

It's true...but try to get a GM with a small block to handle properly....that would cost ALOT more than these cars!!!

I tuned my MGA significantly. Rally cam, high compression pistons, larger carbs, and a few other tweaks.  Took it out of the "stately acceleration" class. ;D ;D

Very old and very poor quality - yes. Same car in both pics. Same Golden Retriever too.

It was a neat $100 car. All it needed was a complete engine and transmission rebuild, new brakes and tires, some rewiring, and a bit of body work. A friend and I helped each other redo our MGAs and financed them by rebuilding spare engines and transmissions.

I sold it to a Vancouver cop for $1100, and the last time I saw it, he was driving the A at over 100 mph on the Upper Levels Highway (North Van).  :o :o

No, he was going in the other direction, but judging by how quickly he was passing other cars and the sound (easily 5000 rpm), I'm sure he was 100+. Top speed on level road was 113 mph - it was modified.  ;D ;D

Choose a GM car like the Vette or the Camaro or Firebird and they can be made to handle very well quite easily for not all that much money. Some of the older Buicks Chevs and J body cars also were good on the oval track at high speeds as well. There are many forms of racing and different classes of racing that they do fit into as well .  :)
