Walmart Motorbikes
« on: January 09, 2007, 11:05:51 pm »
Anyone seen the motorbikes and ATVs they sell at Walmart? The little bike looks cool - its kinda a 2/3 scale bike - $760 or so. Kinda neat.

When looking for an ATV for my son I looked at all the Chinese made models at Canadian Tire, Wally*mart, etc. you can easily find them find them for sale used for $100. The problem with these cheap made in China vechiles is they will fall apart, you can’t find parts, and your child will be heartbroken.

I wasn't actually going to buy one - just thought it was kinda neat. My kids aren't near old enough anyway.

If you want to find parts later, why'd you buy a Yamaha for him instead of a Honda then?   ;D ;D ;D

Typical Snowman...

Canadian Tire's Baja ATVs are rebadged Yamaha machines.  As such, any decent motor sport store will have access to replacement parts.  You just have to give them the Yamaha part number.  In fact, since a fair number of the components are universal, suitable replacements can be found (with a little more digging) at many motor sport stores.

Not sure about Walmart's offerings: they're big enough to have someone manufacture stuff specifically for them, so...

I know the big Cdn Tire store on Gardiner's Road in Kingston has a bunch of Arctic Cats too.

Canadian Tire's Baja ATV’s are great if you going to let your kid run on the back lawn. There is a reason they are only $1200. One trip on a “real” trail with uneven ground or water and you will find out why. The tires are way to small, the battery is too weak, cheap drive chain, loose bolts, poor carburetor needing constant adjustment, and good luck if you have a problem and go to Crappy Tire for warranty work or service.

I did not realize you were so knowledgeable about ATV’s X, do you own one and ride them?

??? Fack your stupid. They are selling them because they can’t find parts to fix them and make them run. Did anybody else not understand that?

Sniff.....Sniff.....is that vinger I smell? oh its you snowman. Must be almost black fly season. ;D

No I think you are stupid to even consider one of these, I would buy my kid a real motorbike not some walmart jobbie. ::)

Beside, what stupid about that, if they are cheap and plentiful like you say, buy too heck even 3 and use 2 of them as the spare parts..... :P
.

???  That’s brilliant! I will buy a $100 used Chinese ATV with the same failed $20 part as the one I spent $1000 for.
