I'm too lazy to re-read the 9 pages of posts so forgive me if you already answered this, but what about a Caddy SRX? I saw one today in white and it looked quite nice. Just coming out of a car wash 

Wife was saying that if Caddy made a minivan, we'd have one by now.  The SRX is quite nice, not sure about the original interior as that was hideous, if that's been resolved, it would be interesting to check out.

There's a new (well, updated) interior for 2007MY. Improved, but still not 'wow'. New Sport Pkg too. But it drives REALLY well - I couldn't believe how well it handles. Had a V8 with Magnetic Ride Control, but hear even the regular suspension and V6 are dynamo.

I didn't like the wide door sills for getting in and out. If shorter, may be a hassle. But definitely worth a drive.

Sat beside a new MDX today.  Does NOTHING for me.  It's a complete pass.  Interior is nice but so are the competitors. 

Right now, the current MDX stays on top of the list, with a trio of Germans close behind.  Q7, ML350, and X5.  The SRX is also on the list as is the LR3....the only other Japanese makes that are still on my mind are the Mazda CX7 and Mazda5.  Wagons are also on there but so are minvans.  It's a long list.  Too bad I have no time to look at any of the in detail.

Sell the house first and if, and when, the boss lets you (with a note of course) then come back and discuss what you may or may not consider - refer back to note again showing her choices.    Focus, Mdx - Focus - oh sorry, that's not on the list.
