'04 PT CRUSIER LEMON
« on: December 27, 2006, 10:01:13 am »
After 18 months, 77000km and 28 repairs it was time to get rid of this vintage looking lemon. Like the shape not the reliability.
-various fluid leaks including head gasket
-axle bearing, starter, hoses, sensors on and on it went
-rotors wore out at 45000km before the pads!
-irratic idle, replaced main computer after 8 visits
-dealer claimed they had never experienced this. Found out they knew fully about the problem.
Luckily had extended warranty to 80,000
-Now enjoy the new Nissan Versa.

In a new Versa.....but doubt this poster will be back to substantiate and answer any questions.  Not sure what the intent of the message is....other than to voice his/her displeasure at this PT Cruiser.

Their intent is the same as the rest of the biitch-and-run type that come around. First post: complain, complain, complain. Never return. Everyone wastes their time giving advice to someone that doesn't really care.

Please prove me wrong.

Is this not the Moan and Whine section.  ???  ::) :P

Moan:  an utterance expressing pain or disapproval

Whine:  a complaint uttered in a plaintive whining way

The poster doesn't really need to prove their assertions that mechanically PTs are the sh*t.  There are after all Neons in a better looking box.  :)

Hey Fuzz, :popo: here is the category breakdown for this page. :censor: and run type?  Giving advice?  ???
Are you okay? Relax. >:(
ArticSteve knows what this section is for, thanks.
All the articles I've ever seen tell consumers what a great vehicle the PT is. I just wanted to offer the flip side.
Try to enjoy the rest of your day.  ;D

I'm glad you returned to prove me wrong. There's been far too many people lately that come on, make one post to complain and are then never heard from again.

That made sense to me.  What did you do with the real Safri?

I used to be a member of ptenthusiast.org.  The big complaint back in 2001 was the gas mileage and lack of power on the 150hp engine.

Did you have a PT at some point in time?

I rented a PT in 2005. It seemed OK on gas but that engine complaint was still valid. Driving on Hwy 60 through Algonquin park I learned that it was best to pass on downhill stretches.

I was interested in the PT Cruiser back then.   I have a 1/35 scale model on my desk, does that count?   I didn't end up buying the full scale model since spouse didn't approve.

Okay, now you've piqued my curiosity.  :)  Why didn't she approve?

One was rented for me once. Back in 2003. I didn't like driving it (re visibility)
