Winter Car Washing

For people who live in Snowy winter areas. I'm curious as to how often you wash your vehicle in the winter months?

For me, it depends on how the weather is. I like to think I wash it when ever it is dirty, but some times that is just not practical.I will always wash it before a cold snap is predicted to come. The car always stays cleaner, the cold the temp is. I'm lucky in that I have the use of my shop at work,so I can wash it by hand and dry it well.I have been known to use the ESSO touchless car wash at times. I always use my Esso points and find it does a good job between hand wash jobs[leave it alone safi ;)]

I hand wash when the temperature is above freezing.  I haven't used a carwash in over 8 years.

Spidey senses say Brig will move this topic.   :)

I usually wash my car once a month in winter, whenever the temp goes above freezing and there is no preicp in the immediate forecast.

actually, you don't have to be in a 'snowy' part of the country...toronto is ridiculous with its sanding/salting applications..they dump billions of tons when there's a snow flake in the air..

i have been to other regions of the country where its colder and snowier but they use far less salt, if any...

i guess that with all the cars and congestion in a big city, the Ministry has to keep our roads clear and snow/ice free..

No, but if I were to do it again I think I'd wear my neoprene sea doo gloves to keep my paws warm in the ice cold water.

Maybe twice during the winter, by hand when it's warm enough not to freeze. I take it in to a manual car wash to hose off the underside. Luckily, they don't use salt on the roads around here. :)

After the roads dry off and the cold temps I was as soon as possible. It is nice to have a insulated garage with a floor drain

I fire up the propane heater for 30 minutes prior to washing. The garage never goes below 3-4 deg. C in the winter so it does not take much to heat it up.

You're not wetting your garage with a live orange extension cord on the floor?   :o
