The article puts in the same "shopping basket" as a V6 Mustang, Solstice and Miata.  Not sure about the drop tops but I do not think the Mustang crowd would look at a Nissan.

May have the market to its self.  It would be a nice addition to the Nissan line-up for sure.

Since Nissan isnt afraid of the odd V6 I would assume the VQ would go in there.

I love the idea, but I have a hard time seeing the VQ in there.  What incentive would there be to move up to the 350Z, then?  And would they build this and the Altima coupe?

I would love to see it offered as competition for the Civic Si/Speed3/GTI.  200+hp from a turbo-four, connected to the rear wheels in something of a no-compromise sports car?

Nissan is really having a hard time choosing a consistent grille.

Oh well, at least it isn't as fugly as some others.

In other overlap news - wouldn't a turbo four also step on the toes of the Sentra SER which is coming?

I imagine this new coupe would be at least three-four years away...  they could drop the Sentra SER in favor of the new car at the appropriate time.

I don't see it competing with the Sentra SE-R persay.  One is a fwd sporty sedan, and this a rwd budget sport coupe.  The only canablization of sales I see are from those who were forced into a sport sedan because nobody was making an affordable 2dr rwd coupe.

Doubtful it would make it in today's market.  But I'd really like to see a nice RWD, Coupe stripped down model that competes sub-$20k range.
