2002 Isuzu Rodeo using oil!
« on: October 12, 2003, 04:38:37 pm »
I have a 2002 Rodeo and it is using oil.  I use about 3 litres of oil between changes.  I am told Isuzu is aware of the problem but have not yet developed a fix.  Is anyone else having this problem?

 Stevenk,

I'm pretty sure I read about another Isuzu owner having oil consumption problems on another forum:
www.bobistheoilguy.com

I don't think the consumption was as bad though.  Might want to check there.

I also have a 2002 rodeo LS 4wd.

I had the oil light go on 3 months after the oil change (6000 kms) and pulled it over to the side of the road.  The engine had started to clank by the time it was shut off.  I had it towed back to the dealer where I bought it and where all my service had been done and they said it had NO oil.

To make it worse they are claiming GM won't cover it under warranty and it only has 38,000km total on the engine and its less than two years old.

The battle is ongoing....any suggestions as to how to escalate this within GM?

Have you been on their Hot-line Ph. No. to complain. You may have to contact legal advice on this and threaten suit. I would document all that you can on this oil problem to use as evidence against them. It has been noted before by others. Hope this helps.
