This is to be my new commuter car - 2.0L / 5spd with black Miata alloy wheels. Its basically a Mazda under the skin (323, MX-3, Protege) but with a Ford engine (a refined version of the CVH called split port injection). Its a light brown I guess - metallic poo just sounds good.

Sharpens up the look of that Escort. Didn't think black would do that, but I think it does on a car with that color.

They add lightness and reduce unsprung weight....it makes that Escort a rocketship.

Just remember: the roof on this one doesn't come off (not easily, anyway).

Yeah this is the free one. Needs a little bit here and there but generally in good shape. Might need a thermostat - takes forever to get heat out of! If the paint wasn't in such good shape I'd rattle can paint the exterior flat black to really match the "Deathscort" name. But alas for now it will remain resale metallic poo brown.

And the Escort is SOLD!

I tried to be practical and keep it. I just couldn't do it. Next car will be much more silly! I'll be getting it in a couple weeks.

I already know what I'll getting. Just have to work out the details (and of course $1500 Porsche 914 shows up afterwards but its not really commuter material). I had the Escort maybe two months I guess ... and 4.5k kms. Just way, way too boring especially since the wife has a minivan.
