Great car, Topgun... and great colour choice. Are you as amused as I was by the "back seat?" I crawled all over this one at the CIAS this year. I was also amused by the "No Wine Glasses" diagram sticker on the cupholder.
It is on my "sorely tempted" cars to buy in the near future. I was a bit put off by the crazy tach on the steering column, though. How do you feel about it?

I love the look of the Mini! I never drove one though, but I have heard mostly good things about it. |

The Mini Chrono package moves the tach etc. back to the normal position, if that's a major issue. |

Not gonna ask why you were so giddy in the back seat. |

Thanks Brigitte...the "No Wine Glass" sticker on the cupholder is very funny!!!! The wife didn't like "white" when I first asked her about it...but she was sold as soon as she saw one in the showroom. On the tach - it depends where you position the steering wheel. I can see the upper rev ranges fine. Don't let the tach location stop you from getting this car...it's a blast to drive. I find myself leaving backing off the throttle just to hear the exhaust "pop-pop-pop" as the engine does the braking. The back seat will be used by our little 3 year old...so there's lots of room for him, although he looses the cubby-hole to his right where he used to store a couple toy cars and his dinosaurs. |

Its funny you say that. I heard a Mini-S go by yesterday and it did the "pop-pop-pop" also and I thought, great exhaust note and thought it was aftermarket. Is that a stock exhaust on the Mini_S as I don't remember hearing that at the drive event. |

How is it possible that after electricity has traveled through hundreds of miles of power line then hundreds of feet (or yards) of romex in our home, that changing the last three feet of wire with something exotic, expensive (cool looking, and packaged in a pricey box) is going to make a difference?

What goes on at the CIAS GTG stays with the CIAS GTG attendees! |

Geez Ghost, why don't you just kick the poor guy! Trust me, as a Miata-guy, hearing "cute car" from a guy is like saying "cute genitals". huh? what d'ya want me to say? It is very adorable. Reminds me of the VW bug convertible. |

It is a cute car. Beats having ppl calling miata a girly car ARGH \ And the fact that the movie "Cars" used miata's as girls around the winner sure doesn't help either |

Topgun, We have a 2006 MCS 'tin top'. We love this car. After six months she's been near trouble free (just a few very little nit piks) The service indicator had our first oil change at 15,000 kms I couldn't wait that long, so I bought an oil filter and did an oil change myself at 5,000 kms. Let me recommend two inexpensive upgrades. First is a pulsing rear center brake light ( do it yourself job-20 minutes) and a glove box divider. Both are great additions, and inexpensive. Check out: http://www.gominigo.com/Here's a picture of the MINI next to my monster Miata (now in storage ) |
