New Member, 17..my rides...
« on: November 13, 2006, 09:19:00 pm »
I just joined here, I frequent a few other forums(British car forum, S10forum, corvetteforum, and the cadillac forum) so you might have seen me around. I am 17 and my dad is a huge car guy...so it kinda rubbed off on me. He's got a pretty big collection of stuff(mostly MG's, Triumphs, and Corvettes) so naturally I gotta catch up. I've got a 78 MGB(my dad bought it for me when I was 3 years old), a 1984 Camaro(I bought from my dad(original owner) when I was 15) and a 2000 GMC Sonoma(I just bought as a winter beater a month ago). Most of my knowledge is in british sprts cars, I know them inside out, everything else I am slowly learning. Heres some pics and info on my cars:

 >:( I JUST DISCOVERED THIS FORUM WON'T LET ME POST PICS TILL I HAVE 10 POSTS!! so you'll have to wait for the pics :(

This is the Camaro....my dad bought it new in 84 and drove it daily for 21 years...it's got almost 400,000km on it with original paint and interior....A tribute to proper maintence this is the msot reliable car I've ever seen - never once left any of us stranded and never once failed to start. Once I got it from him I gave it a good polishing and took 3rd place in my class at a Camaro show....not to shabby for a 400,000km car.

This is the MGB, my dad bought me and my younger brother one when we we're born...Mine was bought from the original owner with only 21,000 original, documented miles. I've added a few things to set it apart from all the other rubber bumper B's around. But I've got more to go(and a pile of uninstalled parts waiting for spring in the basement). I've also got a factory hardtop for it.

Here is my new daily driver(and you can kinda see project Miata Killer in the background :D)....I intended to get just a basic truck, but kinda got carried away...this has a ZQ8 package(better suspension, lower, bigger wheels) and a sportside bed, third door ext cab, and a 4.3L V6. I got some power street scene cal vu mirrors and a bed cover for now, plus an upgraded sound system(came with it)...In the spring I plan on getting a roll pan and some step shavers on the bed, and some envoy headlights.

Anyway, I hope to be a contributing part to your great forum, if anyone is into british cars at all, or has anything british for sale, we're always buyin so PM me. Heres a link to my cardomain with most of mine, and my dads cars...I haven't updated in about a year or so, so it's missing some of our latest projects:
Well ok, it won't let me post a link yet....but I'll post it once I have 10 posts.
1978 MGB
1984 Camaro
2000 GMC Sonoma ZQ8
+plus whatever I can access from my dads fleet

Welcome to the forum.  The 10 post rule is to avoid blatant spamming so in order to keep the forum clean, there are going to be drawbacks.

Welcome to the forum firm.

At least I know that my blocking code works!  It will allow you to attach photos, just not use links to outside sites.  Sorry for the inconvenience but it is to keep us clean.

Maybe I should reduce that to 5 posts, but 10 seemed like a nice round number.

Beautiful blue MG there....nice clean truck too.  Camaro looks to be very well taken care of.  What's that green beast behind the truck?   :bounce:

I think so too.  Firm mentioned it's a Miata killer....I had a friend who had a blue one that he sold off quickly for $2000 as he was moving to SanFran.  Damn nice car.  Probably would have cost me 10x that to keep it running (if I had bought it).

Pics of the mystery machine too?

The grean thing a TR6(nice eye ovr50) It's one of many little bitish cars we pull home.....Recently me and my dad have both been smitten by the feel of TR6's....so we've collected a couple in the last year, this one is finally one good enough to stay...It needs some body work, but it 100% mechanically...It's undergoing a cosmetic resto(we just got it two weeks ago, so we're just starting) and once thats done a MOSS supercharger(I am hoping) and some suspension upgrades.

Heres a pic of the 6 the day we brought it home....with an ugle aftermarket hardtop:

oh, and heres the link to my cardomain....it's got pics of most of my dads collection.....and some other junk. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/284243

Welcome Firm!  That's for trudging through the 10 post minimum to share your passions with us.  Always loved TR6's...  they look more masculine and powerful than the rest of the Triumph line-up I think.

There are a few old wise ones with some significant British car knowledge here too -- you'll fit right in!

Wow, that's a fleet!

All look to be in excellent condition too! Keep the photos comin...
That body style and colour of Sonoma are particularly nice IMO.

 :)
