With a good solid design, a 2013 Altima could dethrone the Camry in the next production cycle.  I have not seen a new Camry on the road yet.

They usually are, giving Ford the pickup crown by default. That said, almost half of those pickup sales are heavy duty versions. Nowadays HD pickups have different frames, bodies, and usually engines and transmissions. Not really fair anymore to lump all trucks together and compare them to separate car lines.
