Stuck Tire Mazda 3
« on: October 21, 2006, 07:28:02 pm »
I attempted to change over summer to winter  tires today ,  but tires refuse to come off . I can not tell if there is some  fusing from rust or what , even tryed to use a rubber hammer . Does  anyone have tips to get stubborn tires off. Would spraying WD40 be a bad idea?
Thanks

I had this problem one year.  I tried everything and then gave in and took it to my tire shop.  One swing and it came off.  Guess he had more faith in his swinging than I did.
A subwoofer should only be noticed once it has been turned off.

Just make sure your car is stable before you bang away.   Use jack stands and block the other wheels.

Ur not talking about wheel locks, right?

Otherwise WD/lube-it for a day or two then try.

I ran into this problem often.  A swift kick (NOT with steel toed boots) to the tire or the edge of the wheel should dislodge it.  AS mentioned earlier, make sure the car is stable.

And try to kick w/ the ball of your foot and not your toes... unless you like pain!  :rofl2:

I suspect you mean the wheel and not the tire ;)

All of the above suggestions are gold. Just needs a little more force...

yup ... a good kick with the heal of your foot to the outside of the tire will take care of that.
