Wow the Tiguan barely has a scratch on it! Well hopefully this new type of test will force some of the constructors to improve in this category. I have to say that I'm quite disapointed in Hyundai/Kia for this... but then again, look at the CR-V's rating... For a company that constantly prides itself about safety, this doesn't look too good for them!

Why I'll be... for 2010MY VW Canada has improved the packaging for Tiguan to what it should have been since the get-go.

Trendline Manual/Auto FWD - Cold Weather Pkg (heated seats and windshield washer nossle) option

Trendline Auto 4MOTION - Cold Weather Pkg

Comfortline Auto 4MOTION - Sport Pkg   (18" alloys, bi-Xenon adaptive headlights, silver roof rails). Hope also includes Chrome Window Trim but doesn't appear so. This is what I'd be ordering if I were buying... wanted HIDs and the silver rails and window trim, but didn't want leather so they've addressed the quantry I would have been pulling my hair out deciding on (Comfortline or Highline), tho ideally just wanted Highline without leather.
- Connectivity Pkg (Bluetooth prep, Media Device Interface w/iPod connectivity)

Highline Auto 4MOTION - Sport Pkg (which means Highline has been de-contented slightly by this content, but adds Connectivity as std - should help the pricing gap between Comfortline and Highline which was a little steep IMO).

Now all I'd like to see is a 6MT Comfortline 4MOTION model and TDI Clean Diesel. Oh, and a slightly lower price.

Well similar story to the Forester, the price didn't get any better.

Crept up on all trims, and appears every - or near all - Volkswagens are priced higher for 2010MY :-\

For 2011MY the Tiguan line-up expands.

Comfortlines are now available in FWD with choice of either 6MT or Auto. So although no manual with 4MOTION (and no TDI), at least there's more comprehensive equipment and the sunroof available.

Comfortline 4MO Autos get leatherette as standard equipment.
