Great car! I still have to drive one to feel the power.
Do you ever drive your other 6 and if so, how do you find the power (or lack of) after driving the MS6?
I was wondering the same thing... how does the performance compare to the V6 Mazda6?
Yes I do drive the other 6 quite often but only once, yesterday, since I got the MSP6. Both are great highway cars that can go effortless very fast and require you watch constantly that speedometer carefully. Funny that I felt yesterday the V6 invites in a more relaxing drive when the 6 GT is hugely recognized for its spirited driving when compared with the Camry or Accord. That tells how the MSP6 is or can be an extreme machine. The steering effort is much lighter on the V6.
The MSP6 is much much more powerful than the V6 with 280 lb-ft vs. the 190lb-ft of the V6. There is no turbo/torque lag below 2800 rpm, which happens to be the engine speed in 6th gear at 120 Km/h or in 5th gear at 100 Km/h. So any throttle increase under these circumstances brings instant acceleration that pushes you back in your seat.

To put this in perspective, the MSP6 has more torque than the G35 and IS350. There is enough torque to cruise at 2000 rpm as long as you don't want to feel that push in a hurray.
But it is unfair to compare the 5-speed automatic transmission with the manual 6 speed. The 5-speed auto can get easily confused during spirited driving and the manual shift mode doesn't work well as the transmission takes longer to upshift then when in the fully auto mode.
The auto trans hesitates sometimes before downshifting 2 gears abruptly and induce significant torque steer. I know I would have enjoyed more the manual transmission with the V6 though the torque steer would likely be more pronounced.
