Can I use my old winter tires on my new car?
« on: October 08, 2006, 09:22:38 pm »
My screen name notwithstanding (;D), I just purchased a 2004 Honda Civic LX sedan, whose tire size is 195/60-15.  I have a set of winter tires (on rims) from my previous car, a 1993 Accord LX sedan, size 185/70-14.  I would like to know if I can actually use this size of winter tire on my new Civic.

TIA.

I believe that year Accord has a 4x114 bolt pattern while Civics are 4x100 so that's a no go.  That said, the tires are almost an identical match in overall diameter so you could use those tires on your Civic if you mounted them on some 4x100 rims.

185/70R14 tires will work on your Civic LX sedan.   It's the standard tire size on the Civic DX.   I am not sure if you can reuse your 1993 Accord rims on the Civic.

Cant use the wheels, but the tires are perfect.
