In the specifications section it says:

Curb weight:                                     1672 kg (3686 lb.), DSG; TBA, manual
Curb weight (automatic transmission):   1235 kg (2723 lb.) auto.

Is there really a 963 lb weight difference?  If that was the case the automatic transmission would definately be the one to get.  Somehow I think this an error.  This car can't weigh 2723 lbs!

Uh... ooops!

All fixed now. The weight for the DSG is right; weight for the manual tranny version hasn't been published by VW yet.
Buy this car to drive to work; Drive to work to pay for this car.

Then add all the taxes, and you're close to $50,000  :o

Very sadly it is still a bargain when compared with the new Volvo C70. The Volvo looks better IMO but doesn't have a great engine or performance, starts at $55K and well equipped can be north of $65K  ???, then add the taxes. The Sebring can be loaded to $42K. The Eos pricing is not that bad.

All those pictures, and not one showing the interior of the trunk with / without the roof stored.
Seems kind of dumb. A pictures worth a thousand works yes? Are  car companies actively discouraging journalists from publishing pictures of the trunks reduced storage when the roof is down? Kind of dumb to leave out this image. Other types of vehicles show trunk or cargo areas with seats etc in various configurations. Why not here? Duh.

I'm sure it's just an oversight from the author... You're a little harsh here.

But I do find interesting that a google search hasn't allowed me to find one picture of the trunk (roof up or down). A lot has to do with most of the pictures being from the VW press releases and obviously VW doesn't want to put the emphasis on the not so positive aspect of this car.

I think the trunk and interior space is one of its biggest strengths along with the pricing which I think is superb.

Shows roof up and roof down. That little upside U piece is removeable but shows you where you should load to if you plan on lowering the top...

Well great, the forum went to the trouble of finding images that should have been included in any article about a car with a hard top convertable roof.

I like the car but the lack of available GPS (at least in Canada from what I can see) or HID lighting...at this price point makes me look elsewhere.

Yes... all those cars wandering the streets aimlessly, hopelessly lost due to the lack of a nav system... good gravy, what did we ever do without one? ;-)

Much less, no? HID kit is like $300, GPS can be had for $150.

Maybe spend the rest on bubble tea and pirated DVDs? :D

Isn't modifying headlamps illegal in Canada?
