My 2005 Mazda3, GT sedan
« on: September 26, 2006, 03:07:39 am »
Hi guys,

Thought I'd share some pictures.

Car currently has just over 17,500 km's.  I love the car, but it's certainly not as refined as, say, the Acura CSX.

Still, for the price that I paid, it's a great bang for the buck.

Enjoy the pics!

TWM shortshifter, with weighted shiftknob.  Shifts are extremely short, and the car is even more fun to row.

Side profile.  Changed the stock tires to UHP ones, and also got Motegi light-weight rims.  I got this done last year when not many folks had the same rims as I did... and now it seems like every Civic has the exact same combo.  This does gives me this "boy-racer" look which I really don't like.

The car is also running on SCC springs.  1.75" drop all around.

Stock rims, tires, and springs.

 ;D

PWP, thanks for sharing the pics.  I think your car looks fantastic with those black wheels and the tints on the white Mzd3.

Got any shots of the whole car?  It's hard to take in the whole perspective with those sexy wheels when I can only see the front half of the car.

PWP that is a great looking ride and the black wheels are defiantly working here with the white car and dark tints. Well done and not overly bling….thanks for sharing.

Nice ride.  The short throw and springs must make it ever more fun to drive than it was new.  :)  I actually like the stock rims better...  but that's only cause yours aren't my taste.  Still, looks good, and not toooo ricey.  ;)

Very nice looking Mazda. I too like the rims and drop.

Always loved the 3 in white.  The drop and the rims look sharp as well, I just hope they don't rub.  I have read on the forums that you have to be careful with wheel offets on these cars especially when lowered.

Also, did I see a casette deck in the head unit?

Thanks for all your appreciative comments, guys.

I like the standard rims myself, but these are light-weight Motegi's.  I could definitely feel the difference once I installed these in my car.

Hey Giant Dwarf.  I'll take some more pics and will post them when I get the chance.   :)

The springs have definitely improved the handling, albeit at the expense of the ride.  It's not too bad, still.  Atleast not much lean in corners anymore!  Hahah... I think it's a little bit too much of a boy-racer look.   ;D

No, they don't rub.  My offset is 42+ so it's all good.  The guys over at www.bcmazda3.com are very informative, so it wasn't much of a problem for me.

And yes, indeed, you saw a cassette deck in the HU.  I've got several early 90's songs in a cassette tape that I just can't seem to get on CDs here.  Thus I had to order it.  Our 1999 Tercel had it...

Thanks.  It's very ironic... given that if I had the money, I'd have gotten a WRX.  That was my first choice... until I saw the price tag!  LOL.

BTW... I heard that insurance on your car is outrageous?  Is that correct?

Nice job on the car....the aftermarket Motegi's look smaller but I like the design.  The lowered stance gives it a good profile.

How much do you rims weigh?

Sweet pics indeed.  Thanks for shooting the interior at night.  I don't think I've seen it at night, it's very nice, kinda upscale with the red, IMO.
Internal combustion thrust I trust
