That is a great choice for a first bike. The price does seem a bit high though. I'm not selling mine but I figured my 2003 SV650S would sell for about $5000. As PJ mentioned, be sure to budget for at least new set of tires. I assume you've already budgeted for a helmet and protective gear? That stuff isn't cheap.

The price did seem high to me. But that was only from checking around the internet. I wonder if I should offer $4000 taxes in ;) It's worth a shot. I don't want to spend over $4000 beause of the extra expenses that come along with owning a bike.

I have budgeted, along with the price of the bike, for gear, insurance, licensing, test fees, running costs. And I was thinking of taking a training course for defensive driving on a bike.

Another question I had, could I sell it at the end of the season for pretty much the same price that I bought it? What about a year from now?
