I talked with Norrie, and he is not aware of any programming change the dealer can do to switch from miles to km on the odometer and the fuel consumption display....

But what about financing? Will your bank give you money for a car bought in the US?

I would love to get confirmation on the warranty as well. When I look at the Subaru USA website it states that all warranty work must be done at US dealers but I have also seen elsewhere that the warranty is honored in Canada.

Banks usually will not provide financing in direct import situations. You can get a eprsanl line of credit which usually has lower interest rate than car loan.

About the speedometer, most cars display KpH in smaller font so its really a minor issue considering the savings.

It's not the speedometer, it's the trip odometer and the fuel computer display.  Fuel consumption and km to empty.

Met a guy at the mod shop who just drove up from Cincinnati where he just picked up a used 2006 STI. He paid $28k USD and it cost him $37k CDN to get it home.

Probably because the WRX was made in Japan and he had to pay more duty than buying a Legacy which is made in North America.

Hi Folks.
Picking up a new 2006 Subaru Outback 2.5i manual shift in New Hampshire this week.  Off the lot price:  CDN$  23,650.

Is there 'wiggle room' with the pricing? or does the US have set pricing? also, this may have been asked/answered already; is the freight/pdi included in the list price or is it over nad above the advertised MSRP? A new Suby here excludes the $1400 pdi from the MSRP

What are you talking about? The Subaru website clearly lists $1495 for PDI/freight and the $100 air tax when you price out an Outback.
