Good news, what is the total price at home parked in the driveway plated and insured CDN?

Not sure about plates and insurance, but think the won't be different from a vehicle bought here.  My total costs to put it in the driveway are:

One thing thatr stops me from doing the same, is the spedo and odometer will be in miles.  Any way to change that in a new Subaru?

I suppose there is if you throw enough money at it .

I'm saving about $10,000, so i could change it if I wanted.

I already drive a "74 MGB that's got MPH, and miles, and that doesn't bug me at all.  This vehicle has MPH and KPH on the analog speedo, so it's just the odometer (and trip computer/outside temp. guage) that isn"t metric.  For 10 grand, I'll live with it!

That is a great deal. How did the New Hampshire dealer want to be paid? I’m assuming you had cash.

The dealer in Montana I spoke to offered to do just that for about $600.  Not sure what it entailed, but I assume a speedo face and odo software change were in order...
No place I'd rather be...

I recall seeing somewhere stickers that went on top of the speedo that showed KPH instead of miles...  the odometer is a bit trickier, but I'm sure the dealership can do it.

The odometer, trip, fuel, etc is all electronic, so that would be easy.  The speedo will have both, does it need to be changed?  That's a good deal on that OB.  Does it have aux in for an ipod, or do you need the modification board?

I don"t even know about the head unit/aux- in situation.  As I don't have an Ipod, probably doesn't matter.  The speedo does have mph/kph.  I was going to live with the non-metric computer, but if it's just a matter of changing some electronics, I'll probably change it over.

Holy flock that looks good!  I always thought the import fees were higher than $200-ish.

And it's considered legal in Canada?  No expensive mods to be done like DRL, dash/odo in km/h as opposed to mph, etc?

Just in case this is helpful,

I made a tiny excel program with the handy codes in the cells to add it all up, you just have to put in the mrsp and the exchange rate - i didnt program it in because it changes.

This is based on a post by "snowman" - from about a month ago, so if there are mistakes, it should be easy to just add a cell or two.

It is set up for the Impreza but could be changed for whatever, hope it is helpful:

I would think, uninformed as I am, that changing the odo and trip to km would be a simple programming change, the same as the changes to the way the key fob works.

I'm going to see my local dealer tomorrow, I'll have to ask Norrie, the service guy.

Let me know, Tenpenny, what your service guy says.  I really don't want to go "flaunting" the new US ride to the local Subaru guys unless I know what I'm talking about.

Legacy is US made, so no duty.  On Legacy and even Forester (duty of 6%) it's possible to save a minimum of $5000 and over $10,000 on some models by shopping in the US.  Subaru is one of the most overpriced cars in Canada relative to the US pricing.  Some Toyota models are as bad.
