Wheels for a Fit
« on: September 10, 2006, 02:22:16 pm »
Mort, have you mounted any new wheels for a Honda Fit (yet).  My brother-in-law wants to replace his 14 inch steel rims/tires with a 15" or 16" combo.

We have done a couple...do you know what style he likes? What does he want from his tire?

He likes the look of the Honda 16" optional wheel.  Something that's easy to clean.  The car is used as a commuter/run-around town car, so high performance tires are not needed.  All seasons, with good wet weather handling (Falken ZE 512s or Kumho ASTs?)

Watch out with 16"s.  From what I remember reading on the Fit tuner forums, the car really starts being a dog with 16"s.  15"s were the most popular option.  That said, I have 17"s on my Civic, with similar power, and it gets around just fine.  :)

He'd be happy with 15s.

The 16" will weigh more, but all depends if you are looking for performance or drama!

I have searched for wheels that have a similar look and come up with the Motegi MR7. Very similar style and available in 16" +42 "Fit"ment. The car does not have much room under the fenders, so it is very tight. This wheel does come in 15", but the offset is too high and will rub the fender.

Dark grey or black centers, with a polished lip.

Ooh...  what colour is his Fit?  Those are great looking wheels, especially in black or gunmetal.  :)

I believe only the silver comes with a polished lip and other finishes come with the fully painted. Let me check into that for you.
