Chucky's new ride
« on: September 07, 2006, 07:45:02 pm »
ION1 with auto and air, CD w/aux port and that's about it.  Had to read the manual to figure out what those black things with the round knob on the door panels were since it's been so long since I've had manual windows...

yup, still polymer.  07 is the last tho, the Astra will replace the ION next year and the Antera will replace the VUE (well, saturn will import the antera and make a VUE out of it)and all will have metal panels.

Nice shade of blue....I agree.  The car looks shiny....keep it that way.  You've got two new rides to keep spotless.

Congrats on the new car!  Great colour (similar to my Aerio).  Nice to see someone else make a "dark horse" choice.

Interesting that the Antara will replace the Vue.  Another GM-DAT product in the North American line-up (The Antara and Captiva are made by GM-DAT.)

Like the colour as well. Interesting design elements in the car... the side windows are rather upright.

Have wondered so might as well ask what that little chrome part on the inner edge of the headlights is for. Does it do anything (almost looks like pop out headlight washers, but does it cover up otherwised exposed screws or...) or just for bling?

I think it was one of those "uh oh, we redesigned the front end, but we want to re-use the headlights from last years model.......um.......just stick a crome triangle there.......DONE!"  type of things.

Haha, just saw an original and the restyle over lunch and hadn't realized the headlights are identical (or identical shape and damned near close). The chromed grille sort of brightened up the front end so much I thought the headlights were more jewel-like than before, but you're right. Neat. And the triangle fits  :)
