  Returning to Canadian dealerships for 2006 after being absent in 2005, the practical and stylish Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback wagon "offers more than twice as much luggage space as the Lancer sedan behind the rear seat, and five times as much useable cargo area with the rear seats folded down," says Editor, Greg Wilson. The sporty Ralliart model adds stiffer shocks, front strut tower brace, new grille, ABS, and larger 16-inch tires and alloy wheels, he says. I really like the sportback. I think it's a great looking wagon.
But no manual on the sporty model? While I realize that the market for it would be really small, it officially takes it off my roster. |

No manual tranny on a supposed "sport wagon", no thanks. As for the review... you're reviewing said "sport wagon", imo stiff ride and "noisy" exhaust are part of that character. If you're not into that, take the standard Lancer. |

We keep hearing about the automotive overcapacity that is not sustainable in the long run. Besides the Big3 finally adjusting their capacity, Mitsubishi appears to be IMO the top candidate for the natural process of elimination and I would not be surprised it becomes the next casualty in the Auto world. Now that DaimlerChrysler has pretty much severed all ties with Mitsubishi, I don't know how it will survive with an old product line and limited resources to do anything about it... The new Outlander may be too little too late.
The very limited dealer network and questionable resale value makes buying a Mitsu a very tough sale IMO. And I find the dash design of this vehicle looks 10-15 years old... |

No manual tranny on a supposed "sport wagon", no thanks. Agreed. That's always made me mad, and I don't think it makes much sense. Here in the US, the Legacy GT wagon is only available with an automatic  I like sportwagons, but a manual transmission is required IMO. |

Also Mitsibushi's design is very bland and boring. Nothing in their line-up is exciting or fun to look at. I can name at least 1 car from each of the other Manufactures that I would aspire to buy, but not so with Mitsu. The last 2 generations of the Eclipse have been dismal. But with that said I’ll probably pick-up a Lancer VE when my lease is over on my car. Their 7/year bumper-bumper and 10/year powertrain, are the only selling point (for me). |

I think the Sportback's mini-Volvo wagon look works really well. And the Ralliart sedans look great too.
However, the interior really does appear to be a throwback to 8 years ago now. And $25Gs is a lot of money for this vehicle... sticker it $18 - 21,5 and you'd have many more bites. |

I agree that this car's price point is too high. Cut by 3-5 grand an it'll sell. Glad that Mitsu is at least making the effort to keep small wagons going. Now the Focus wagon can have some mild competition  |
