07 Mustang Convertible
« on: August 17, 2006, 09:44:07 pm »
I want to get an 07 Mustang Convertible.  New for the 07 year are heated seats (That's all I really care about for winter).  LOL.  Anyone have feedback on this car?

Ask Ovr.  He ordered one....but ended up with the 06.  Drive a droptop in the winter?  A Mustang in the winter?  It can be done, but it might be interesting.  Are you ridding the coupe for it?

Wetson - have you not been following the program here? And MdX5, old buddy, my Stang is an '07, not an '06.

Wetson - one week ago tomorrow, I bought a 2007 Mustang GT/CS (California Special edition) Convertible in Black, 5 speed, black top, with Black/Dove leather seats. I can't post pictures yet as I am in the midst of changing my computer for a new one (not here yet) and I have a problem with pix in my old computer (this one).

What do you want to know, Wetson? I have done a lot of research. When you say "'07 Mustang Convertible" do you mean the 6 cyl (called the Mustang) or the V8 called the Mustang GT? There is more than heated seats new for '07 also. Two new colors and two are dropped.

Winter driving can de dicey (and icey  ;D) and depends on the amount of snow you get. As mine is an extra vehicle, I do not plan on winter driving it, but could probably do it here in Kelowna.

What you want to know, man??  ;D ;D

No....forgot the thumbs up pic.  It was just a reference to the 5-6-7 club that I like in your sig.  I rather like it and maybe I'll be part of something like that...one day.  No offense or anything with that comment.  Sorry bud.

Gotcha - it's all good, MdX5.  ;D ;D

Ppl on here come from all walks of life, all ages and all ecocomic strata. As I am older, have worked hard all my life, and been lucky a bit; I have some means (a bit only) that allows me to do things I want to do before it's chip cash-in time. Things I do don't always make sense (except sometimes to me), and as Paul Harvey DOESN"T say, "Now you DON'T know the rest of the story".  ;)

Sorry, Wetson, for stealing your thread.  :-[

I know you've "done your time" and made what you have today.  It's all good...sorry Wetson...now about that Mustang you're thinking of.

Railton

Rail - the CS edition includes the following mainly appearance options:
- 18" polished "Bullitt" wheels, aluminum
- two tone leather seats, either black/dove or black/parchment(tan)
- passengers seat is electric (no so on GT)
- seats are heated
- front air dam with larger air intake opening than on GT
- rear lower diffuser (similar to Shelby)
- electrochromatic rear view mirror w compass
- side tape stripe in flat black, says "GT/CS" on it (as the 1968 one had)
- side scoops just back of doors (as the 1968 one had).

The "GT Appearance" pkg is separate and includes the front hood scoop (not functional), plenum engine cover, and rolled exhaust tips. Most CSs will be ordered with this pkg also.

Cost of the CS option is $2200 Cdn ($1895 in US) and is available in only 4 colors for the car - Black, White, Vista Blue or Redfire. Can be either coupe or convertible.

Is that the same as the boot lid?   ;)

I think most drop tops come with one....but some are a pain to get on.  Snap on manual ones that the end of the day, stay in the trunk or the garage.

Yes, it does. Mine has not been on yet (only 1 week owned) and is in the truck.  ;D

Wetson - I should mention that if you are serious, the Ford Family Pricing incentive thing is a real incentive plan and terminates Aug 31/06. It applies to '07 models, and covers orders in place with Ford by that date; as well as cars in stock (either '06 or '07 models).

Well, you've GOT to have all of the "bells and whistles" whether they are useful or not.  ::) Besides, my Forester had heated seats, and I found them very useful for treating a sore back. That's an important consideration for old coots like Ovr and me - one of the major age targets for the car.  ;D

As an 8 year Miata veteran (95 Laguna Blue) and a 3-year old in tow I too find myself liking the new 'stang more and more.

I've spent some time on the US and Canadian Ford sites...I see nothing on the CS on the Canadian web-site.

Yours sounds nice a nice ride OVR...would like to get a look at that dove or parchment interior...vista blue for me.
If it flies, floats or f#%&s...rent it.

It's California in name only.  They could have called it the Utah edition (with seat heaters), but how cool is that?

TopGun - the websites are behind and I don't use them that much. I will give a link below to a US website that is good for all Mustang info, including CS model for '07. Bear in mind there will be price differences to Canada, and some minor US option differences.

http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/timeline/05/07/

You can also access a site on the 2007 California Special right off the above. There is pix of both black/dove and black/parch there IIRC, but it may be hard to see on the website. Dove is medium gray, and parchment is tan. You can only get a cloth roof in black, not parchment. Vista Blue is a terrific color and, together with Black, was my top 2 choices.
