Too long ago for me and my last new car purchase.  2004 Acura MDX with Tech package.  I recall 55K + taxes etc before negotiations.  I don't remember where I ended up as I had a trade in, a few throw ins, and a few bucks knocked off....

Leased an altima 2.5s auto with extra package last August. Can't remember the msrp, I think it was about 27K. Got it for $24,800, monthly payment is $290+taxes, 0 down.

Is there somebody leased a Rabbit(Golf) or Jetta would like to share the monthly payment? Thanks a lot!

Oops!  There was a $850 rebate on the Mazda3 at the time and I also sort of got the $500 grad rebate.  I'm saying sort of because my degree qualified me for the grad rebate that morning but Mazda Canada rolled over one year that afternoon.  I assigned the grad rebate to the dealer but I'm not sure if they actually go it.  So the real price for the dealer was either $350 or $850 above invoice then.  Probably still an okay deal for me.  I was in there for almost 5 hours...

Dorin you paid $500 below invoice.

And is "invoice" really the price a dealer pays?

What about incentives to the dealer. Month end, X unit of sales, etc?

Somehow I doubt "invoice" is the bottom line.

2007 Volkswagen GTI 3dr 6MT, Candy White, Roof, 18" Huf's. MSRP $32,545 (incl freight / $100 A/C tax / $75 fuel tax, excluding PDI).

I paid $30,765 + $480 PDI at my particular dealer (it varies so I excluded it). Essentially saved $1,780 from MSRP if freight is identical.

My overpriced Saab 92x Aero MSRP at $39995 +tax. I got the price down to $31,000 + tax. Yes it came up cheaper than a WRX wagon's invoice price. Gotta love the General!  Grin

Seriously, I doubt if I can get myself a GTI at that price!

Looks like the majority of posters are getting some good discounts. Either that, or ones who paid MSRP aren't inclined to post  Shocked

It is very interesting. People talk about the Japanese price being firm, but seems there's reason to negotiate hard depending on the vehicle and the time of purchase.

For simplicity's sake, I'm going to disobey a few things here.  My Aerio (bought about a year ago), with freight, PDI, all taxes, and all deductions (recent grad rebate, dealer made 1st payment) cost a grand total of $22 000 on the road.  I also got roof racks (200.00 accessory) thrown into the deal.

Financing over 60 months @ 0%.
