Spock's Honda

Finally got some time to go through my camera stuff and upload some pics.

I acquired this back in April from my neighbor:

Here's after I steam cleaned it:

Nice looking Civic Dr Spock!  :)

Looks like it was a good idea to steam clean it. Hmm, I guess I should do that to my car too.

What year is it? mileage?

It's a 2002 Civic LX-G.  It just passed the 96000 km mark.

Yup, I was sucking up all sort of animal crackers and trail mix left behind by my neighbor's kids.  I even managed to take out his dog, Belle's scent.

I'll be steam cleaning both of the cars in the fall.  Can't wait to see what I find.  Nice pics of the Civic.  Good sensible vehicle.

Nice car dr_spock! 8)

I like the look of the interior fabric. Seems soft.

I always think it's neat when you can get a car whose history you know.

Ohhhh!  So THAT's what a clean, silver '02 Civic LX looks like!  I think my wife has washed her car once in '06.  Oh, no wait... that was me who washed it that time.   ::)

96,000 kms?  She's just a baby!  We passed 150,000 not long ago and we're still on the original rear brakes!

I bought mine from http://www.bissell.ca   I guess they are called deep cleaners now.  I have the Big Green Machine.   Best $200 I ever spent.   It's great for taking out the winter salt stains and gunk too.  You can get cleaning solutions with Scotch Guard.  Keeps the interior looking clean and smelling fresh  :)

It's almost time to take off the snow tires.    I tried out the new rims today and it's rusty brakes...

Should I or should I not paint my rear drum brakes?   What colour would work?

If the drums are really rusty a paint job can't hurt.

What color you ask, drums should only be black IMO--unless you are running Hercules G5000Z (215/40RZ17) tires, in which case bright red or yellow is a must.  ;)

  :iagree: Basic black is beautiful. A dull silver is also acceptable unless one has Hercules G5000Z (215/40RZ17) tires:rofl2:

Looks like you got a LOT of gunk out of that Civic!  :o

May it serve you well.

Even silver would be good, but black would look the best.

Sounds like black it is.   I'll paint the drum brakes black once I can get a couple of days when the Honda isn't being used.

Changed over the winter tires today to the alloys.   (Thanks, gosteelerz.)
