Well, with it being a Friday of a long weekend and my need to get from one end of the GTA to the other, I'll be taking the 407 this afternoon... then cursing a blue streak at the fact that I'm PAYING for the honour of being stuck in traffic.  If they're going to cause massive delays on the highway because of construction (ie. the current widening of the lanes) they should really offer a discount for those using this so-called superior service.

I only tolerate it because it is a slight lesser of two evils (the other of course being the 401 which is bound to be virtually stopped as of noon today until probably noon tomorrow).   Ugggh...

Having driven both recently, I would venture to say that the 407 at least knows how to do construction right.  Or have to you missed the fun & rapture that is the 401W on the express between the 400 & 427 cutoffs?  Down to two lanes?  That's madness and even on a late night Saturday run results in near paralysis (The collectors are as bad with the overflow, hence why I don't bother with those)

Uggh... I hear ya.  And of course we all know it's crucial to rip up 15+ kms of asphalt at a time in order to work on the first 1 km for the rest of the week - month.   ::)

Like I said... the 407 IS the lesser of two evils.

De Ballit of de Boll Weevil

you can talk about the latest
the latest of your own
these boll weevils
they will rob you of a home
they are looking for a home
they are looking for a home
the first time I seen a boll weevil
he was sitting on the square
the next time I seen a boll weevil
he had his whole family there
they are looking for a home
they were looking for a home
they are looking for a home
they are looking for a home
they are looking for a home
they was looking for a home
the farmer he took the boll weevil
put him on the sand
the boll weevil says to the farmer
you treat me just like a man
and I will have a home
I will have a home
the old man said to the old lady
what do you think of that
these boll weevils got into my brand new stetson hat
and it's full of holes
yeah it's full of holes
alright, yeah it's full of holes
well it's full of holes
yeah it's full of holes
well it's full of holes
alright now this next verse is about myself
and when I'm done I hope you'll sing along with me on
"he's looking for a home" OK?
I said if anybody asks you people
who sang you this song
you tell 'em it's jackie white
he's done been here and gone
and he's looking for a home
he's looking for a home
he's looking for a home
he's looking for a home
he's looking for a home
he's looking for a home
he's looking for a home
he's looking for a home
he's looking for a home
he's looking for a home

I just started a facebook group called "Stop the 407 ETR's Abuse of Power!"  Please join and help me do something about their improper billing practices.  The government has been aware for a long time about the issues, but acts helpless to do something.  It's time they legislate! Please help bring change to the 407's ways!
We must stop abuses of power no matter how big or small http://407etr-abuseofpower.com/about/<br />I haz typos & spelling errors and you are my enablers :)

I would have an issue paying to use a road unless it was 100% privately financed...was it?

Somehow I doubt it.
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

A car has to do more than just perform; it has to stir your soul!

A true driver's car does not have cup holders.
