Vmango , nice review
But talk to your dealer on the cost of the oil change,
It cost me oil $79 for syn oil change on my truck

It will depend on oil is used.  Some synthetics are quite expensive.

It was Mobil 1 that the dealer used ;D
I did not have time to do it myself, we were leaving next day to go south, and the driveway was covered in snow.
If the filter was like the 3 series( accessible from the top)  I would have probably done it myself

V, nice review.  I'm looking forward to a spring fling in the SS...but more importantly...going to AutoX where it'll really perform.

p.s. I swear, the 540i wasn't me  :foil:

I have engaged a few SS’s while I was in stock trim and won each time. Some were close most were not. I don’t believe any of them had the upgrades but there is a yappy fellow with a redline that wants a piece of me but keeps putting me off until summer….Wha?

Do you have any mods Snowman? Are you the guy of this forum with the COBB tuning? If you do, no wonder none of the races are close.

Also, sometimes you have to be careful, because there are naturally aspirated Cobalt SSes out there with 170 or so horsepower. It is hard to tell between the SS N/A and the SS/SC unless you really know what to look for. A lot of dealers (fools) are putting the big wing on all models.

But if you're racing SS/SC from a standstill, I would figure you'd probably win everytime. That AWD is awesome. From a roll the races are more even (stock for stock). My next car may very well be a WRX. Do you know if they have the premium package (with leather) available in Canada?

Hey!  When is anybody going to test the new turbo/ lsd version of this car?

It kicked the S2000, STi, and Evo's ass in the latest C&D mag not to mention my fav the MS3.

I love cheap speed and would like to see CTC spend a couple of days with this car to see what it is like to live with.

Doubt it -- maybe next spring.  Or I'll be so lucky to get one mid winter with summer tires on it.

You would need to get danger pay to drive that in the winter.

But damn...the car is just so FUGLY.  Why can't GM make a scaled-down CTS body and throw it on that chassis??   ;D
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

You can get it without the big wing.  In the wingless format, I respectfully disagree but hey it's a subjective thing. The worst thing I would say about it's looks is that it is generic.

After a backwards read through this thread I would say you are the first to express strong negative feelings towards the way it looks.  Sure there were the odd shot at the wing and it's colour but there were others who liked it.

That's because I'm the only one willing to beat the dead horse aspect of the looks.

FWIW,  I'm the one who said (months ago) that the Cobalt is the best handling FWD car on the market..and possibly of all time.

So I'm ot a complete hater....just in the looks category.  Which is why I prefer the HHR SS over the Cobalt...

It is very challenging to make a compact sedan look aesthetically pleasing to the eye. That is why I am a huge fan of hatches.
