My wife brought the 92x in for service and she saw the SportCombi. Came back to tell me that she like that as the replacement for the 92x Aero.  :fall:

Prius, I would lump the Passat Wagon the same class as the Legacy GT wagon. Entry level upscale but not quite BMW Touring or Audi Avant level yet due to badge snob-factor. Saw a Passat wagon last week. Jet Black. Very nice. But I'm no VW fan other than the classic Beetle.

I see you're a fan of 'boxer' engines then...I love em too my '85 Westfalia had one although it
wasn't by any stretch powerful I loved the sound and the torque curve that is inherent to the
"punch...counterpunch" power delivery. Now I'd really like to get my hands on a late '80's 911
now that is an engine!

I'm noticing more and more of these Sportcombi's around the streets of Toronto. It must be doing well for GM/Saab.

Really.. Seeing any 9-3 is barely a once-a-month occasion here.

surprisingly i see a decent amount of Saabs in Vancouver (mostly d/t and Kits area) than I expect. Amidst the sea of 3-series, a 93 is a welcome sight. Perhaps these people just want to be different hence bought a Saab instead. Hey that's me!  :)

I actually the new 9-5 Sportcombi in bright red earlier this weekend. Not bad looking, if a little flashy. Might just be the colour though. Parked right ahead of it was the second 9-3 Sportcombi I've seen so far, in silver with an MT  8)

Was this at the Saab dealership?  Did the cars have "$5000 off, GM discount!" plastered on them?  :)

that MT interests me though.

If Saab had any significant dealer network in Oregon, and if I had had a slightly larger budget, I would have bought a 9-3 Sportcombi 2.0T instead of my Legacy wagon.  I certainly would choose the 9-3 SportCombi over a Volvo V50.  It sounds to be more of a driver's car, it's certainly not as cramped as the V50, and in my totally subjective opinion, it's better-looking and "cooler."

the V50 is smaller than the SportCombi. It's a tarted up Mazda3 afterall which I do find quite capable in the handling department. Certainly wouldn't mind one. A bit too expensive for too little.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the North American mindset:

A bit too expensive for too little.

Mazda 3 is a very watered down Euro Focus :D, and not in the same league as a V50 afterall.

A 2yo combi with 40,000 kms will probably go for 25k thanks to Saab atrocious resale value... That woudl make it a very nice used buy...... :lick:
