It'll be interesting to see how she rides with 16"s huh?

Can alloy wheels improve the ride?

I'm hoping the 16"s don't take away from what I feel is great stability on the highway......

These Blizzaks + 16" wheels indeed do give up some "rock solid" high speed stability even compared to the rather crappy stock tires, but this is to be completely expected. Steering effort goes down a bit with the narrower size and the ride is noticeably more cushy and somewhat more bouncy.

It's a fair tradeoff for the extreme grip Blizzaks give on the snow and ice. It may be overkill if you drive in Toronto weather (and maybe too much of a compromise). This is one time I go against my own advice, I normally don't recommend downgrading to Q rated tires if you have a sporty car, but I don't mind the compromises for our driving and climate.

Very nice! You may have helped Tiretrends sell a set of of the same wheels for my Speed6. Though Morty never bothered answering a question I posted a while ago.

Julie, where did you find the Rial wheels, at Tirerack?

Yup, at Tirerack.

Me too, I've become tempted again.

You got a really good deal Julie so don't regret anything. You'll have plenty of time and opportunities to find something you really like for your TSX.

You're right. When I added up the numbers the Acura guy gave me for the installation and tires, the steelies seem to have been thrown in for almost free(50 dollars extra). I think it's the package deal effect...

Very nice TSX! I love both your TSX and your WRX. Do you have any pictures of the WRX?

Thanks to both posts.

Yup they are the OZ SL's. I used to hate the thin spoke look but now I prefer it.
And the weird thing is, I prefer the bugeye WRX to all the newer ones for styling. It's just got more character.

I also like the front (and overall look) of that Subaru model more than the current one.

"We decided on black because it's the ONLY colour that is available with tan leather interior. My wife hates black leather. Pooey on you Acura Canada for giving us such crappy limited colour choices (US buyers not only pay much less for the same car, but they can get tan leather with many of the other more interesting exterior colours)"

Real sweet rides, Ray. I'm especially jealous of the WRX; that's one of the most stylish and unique cars of the past decade.

As to your comment about crappy choices and price differences from the US versions...brand new Honda Element EX-Y AWD A/T in Canada: $33,700 CDN. American version quoted by dealer in Minneapolis for an '06 EX-P AWD A/T that they were trying to clear out: $19,250 US, which after factoring in the exchange and reduced taxes on the lower amount ends up being a difference of $13,400 CDN. Big 3 American automobile makes have a price differential, but not nearly as obscene as the Big 3 Japanese makes. The area of the biggest variance was, as you noticed, the colour choices and interior fittings. Brand new Ford Focus ZX5 in Canada has 6 exterior colour choices and two choices for the interior (charcoal grey cloth or charcoal grey leather). Same car in the US? Ten exterior choices and 4 interior choices.

Those Japanese companies dirty cheating ba$tards must think that Canadians are, as a collective, fairly stupid, I guess. Meh, what are you going to do...?
I wonder if George W. Bush was confused by "Weapons of MATH Destruction"?

I never really considered buying any of my cars from the US but next time, I just might (at least for Subaru which doesn't have a warranty issue). I have no issues with cross border shopping and certainly I make use of it whenever I can.
