I'm mixed on the looks.  From the pix, it appears it would be the type of vehicle that'll look much better in person.  Just seems like there was too much "hey, let's put a crease here, a buldge there..." during the design phase.  The CX-7 has a much better flowing design IMO.

Interior looks nice, but WAY too complicated.... 13 buttons on the steering whee??  c'mon...

Don't care about the fuel economy, with the SH-AWD and near 50-50 weight distribution, this thing must be a blast to drive.  45K is a bit steep tho, I think I'd take a Murano or CX-7 over it.

I saw one on the 403 last Friday.  Very sweet road presence.

When I saw the CX-7 pictures on the internet I thought it was stunning. Now that I've seen it for real I'm not so impressed, its still not bad though.  :-\

The RDX is also a stunner in pictures, but not in a good way.  :P I hope the front end doesn't look so bad in real life because I expect to see it quite often around the GTA very soon.
To err is human, to blame it on someone else is even more human.

This RDX is gawd awful ugly IMO.
The designs coming out of Honda/Acura makes me
wonder what the designers are smoking.
45k for this is a bit of a stretch that is for sure...

So X3 vs Q5 vs MLK vs GLK vs XC50?

Lexus, Infiniti on the way?

And RDX vs Marrakesh?

CX7 vs CRV vs RAV4?

Surprised this thread has been so quiet.

On an errand today, and stopped by local Acura shop and chatted with salesguy friend who says the RDX is selling as fast as they can get them here (and that's not fast enough). Looked over one sitting there and it is a pretty impressive machine. I would like to drilve one someday to see how that turboed 4 cylinder moves out.

He also said, that the new MDX is just starting to arrive, and they have sold their entire allotment until into April of 2007 already. They had one there, and it is also a darn impressive rig. It sure is big tho, I kind of like the size of the RDX better. Only thing I would add is that the MDX as it comes, just begs for side chrome bars. It looks funny IMO without them.

Later.  :)

I too saw a MDX at my local dealer last week.......... with a big FAT "sold" sign on it already.

I have the feeling these are indeed going to sell very well. I thought I hated the look when I first saw the pics. However, I found the exterior really nice in person. (aggressive, expensive, futuristic.) I am stunned at how I've change my mind about their looks (at least on the outside).

I'm going in to test one when I have time.....I think I may be afraid that I'll like it.

Would you ever trade in the MDX if you really liked the RDX?

Yes.  If it had enough room for our family gear.  Our double Chariot stroller must fit in the back.  If the RDX can do that, let me keep my $20K and show me that RDX.

Interesting! Saw one for the first time outside the local Timmy's the other night - my reaction was similar to Julie's - didn't like the pics but thought it looked good in person. Nice size - not too big. Will be interested to hear your test-drive impressions.

The MDX doesn't look big as it sits lower to the ground....but it's big.  Just like the one I have.  Interior is 100x better.
