Day 1:

2007 Dodge Caliber

New for 2007 is the Dodge Caliber, replacing the Dodge SX 2.0 formerly known as Dodge Neon or Chrysler Neon, depending on the year and trim level.  The Caliber is a completely new vehicle, large in size and much larger in appearance with its muscular Dodge front fascia.   More ...

Day 2:

2007 Dodge Caliber

Well well, it seems as though my regular readers really dislike the Caliber, especially the styling.  Interestingly I've had a few comments regarding the looks of the Caliber out in the real world and all have been positive.  Some especially liked the colour coded interior on the SXT model.   More ...

Day 3:

2007 Dodge Caliber

The driving dynamics of the Caliber are fairly decent a generally overlooked characteristic on an entry level vehicle.  The suspension system on the SXT Caliber is aptly named the touring suspension.  Bumps and potholes are absorbed smoothly; the highway ride is comfortable all the while allowing for a sporty feel on initial turn in with minimal body roll.   More ...

Looks good. Anyhow, if you like Dodge vehicles, you can visit the <a href="http://blogs.iloha.net/autopartstrain/entries/11236.shtml>Dodge Zoo Adventure</a>. There would be a showcase of the best Dodge vehicles.

My opinion is that the Caliber looks REALLLLLLLLY ugly.  I think I gagged the first time I saw one on the road.  Lips Sealed

I happened to be stuck behind one the other day and noticed something that really would irk me if I owned one:  The rear hatch liftgate is VERY narrow.  They made the taillights too wide and sacrificed a seemingly large amount of "opening" to fit things like Ikea boxes (you know, flat and wide), and even a bicycle into.

The Protege5 my wife has can easily fit that, as the gate seems (eyeballs) at least 10-12" wider on the P5.

Reminds me of the Durango  Hurl
Just my personal opinion, of course.

I do, however, like the commercials.

I definately do not get the Caliber at all. Looks are, well a matter of taste, and the looks of this car are not to my taste. Interior, is well, GOdspd put it well - Fisher Price materials (but not overall quality) comes to mind. In replacing the Neon (which is what it does replace) Dodge have taken, I think, this 'boy-racer-cum-truck-fanatic' a bit too far. I see a few on the roads now, and they look really weird and out of place. All that plastic outside tells me that it wants to be a jeep, (I think), while the rest of the vehicle isn't sure what it wants to be or where it wants to fit in the marketplace.

Freeky, that looks like the Sears home centre in west mississauga and by coincidence, the dood who lives near me that I suspect is an auto-reviewer due to the new vehicle in his driveway every week also has that same colour Caliber in his driveway.   (couple weeks ago he had a Cayman S)

JB, you have a summer home in Oakville by chance?

not Yap.  It's some white dood, I saw him in his backyard a couple weeks ago, but didn't have the stones to walk up and say "uh, so do you, like, review cars and junk?"

These Dodge Caliber appear to be selling well. So some of us get it. I've seen more Dodge Calibers here in London than the New Yaris saloon or Fit/Jazz. launch about the same time too. What I like about Dodge they don't try to copy. But try to be different. You've got take your hats of to manufacturer who bucks the trend instead of following.

Exactly ... DC would like us to think that the Caliber is "original" and new.  It's the same old thing but they try to make it "unique" ... it's a dangerous strategy.  Sometimes it works and other times you end up with a Caliber.

I saw this last night .... the driver wasn't wearing a paper bag on his head.

I think the Dodge offers a better low cost wagon to families who are on a smaller budget.  I like it more than the HHR and PT Cruiser.  However, the slanted rear window cuts down on space but the package is effective.  It's not my cup of tea but it's got some styling edge to it.  I prefer smoother lines like the Vibe/Matrix, Mazda3 etc.

Konqueror is bad, but I'll check out Opera for you.  It works in Opera 8.51 must be a bug in 9?  Thanks for the input I'll see what I can do.
