Need wax rec. for the P1800. Is Zymol a good product.
« on: June 14, 2006, 11:34:23 am »
I am almost done fixing the mechanical on the P1800 and it is time to give her a nice coat of wax. I have a few minor scratches/blemishes that have mysteriously accumulated while the car was being put back together. I am not too sure what the car was finished with although it was a solvent based paint. I want to go with something real mild to be safe. Is Zymol a good product? I will be using my old orbital and a new pad.

There's a race shop by the Golden Acres Garden centre off McKnight that carries Zaino....forgot the name.

Yes....you can find the full line in my garage.  I think James likes to use P21S and Klasse products.

I've used Zaino, Klasse, Zymol...pretty much all of them.  The best "off the rack" one that I've used and is easily found is Meguiars NXT wax.  I would clay bar the entire car 1st though.  Goes on easy, comes off easy, shines very nice and is available at Canadian Tire and other places like that.  I think ultimately you can get a higher shine level with Zaino or Klasse, but you do need several different products and a few coats.  Zaino and Klasse also seem easier to work with if you have a polisher ( I have a Porter Cable 7424) whereas I have been impressed with NXT even when applied by hand..
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

I've used NXT a few years back.  It's not bad.  Really good for off the shelf cheap wax.  But the Zaino care treatement just makes it that much better.  It really brings a good deep shine to the paint.
