I think they were focused on the BMW bashing and didn't check the facts.  Grin

Things may have changed, but hubcaps were the standard for all previous 3 series'

The point is, of all you guys who chose the 323i over the TSX, who would still choose the BMW if it were the same car but FWD?

So, a FWD 323i over a TSX?

BMW's main advantage is the RWD....you can't take that away from it.  The driving dynamics are spectacular...even with a smaller engine.

I doubt that BMW would have earned its "Driver's Car" reputation without a RWD configuration.  The TSX and the 323i have a similar price and power output but BMW and Acura are not equals ... maybe with time.  Tongue

Nah ... there's the Lexus IS 250 RWD (205 HP 2.5L V6 with a 6MT for 36 300$).  I'm doubt its handling is comparable to the BMW but I'm sure they've got plenty of luxurious toys.

To me, it's more the engine that makes the difference than the FWD or RWD configuration... In this type of vehicle, I'll take the I6 2.5L over the Acura 4-cyl 2.4L any day of the week.

That's all it is.

Car and Driver 10 Best:

Best Sports Sedan...Acura TSX (3rd year in a row) Shocked

Best LUXURY Sports Sedan...3 Series BMW

Having extensively driven both (and the IS), there's no question as to which delivers the most value in my mind...TSX...in Red and Tan...so it looks like the Alfa I'd rather have!

sure value... but people buying BMWs don't have 'value' very high on their criteria list... they either want the best machine their money can get, or they want the best image their money can get... and in either case, the BMW is the clear winner, IMO.

323i or TSX? I'd be quite happy with either.

Shnak come for a ride in my torqueless S2000, June 25th auto-x Scotiabank Place, see how much torque I don't have Wink

Uhh... I don't think he'd fit.   Lips Sealed

Top Gun, when Car and Driver says "Best LUXURY Sports Sedan" it's definitely not based on the 323i or even the 325i.  it's because the 330i can be had (with a sports pkg and stick shift) that makes them say that.  The 330 is an entirely different (and vastly more expensive) animal.

All this TSX talk had me look at leasebusters.  I don't get some people.

There is one for takeover at $530 a month for 23 months with a $27,000 buyout.  Original term 48 months.  Do the math, that means the guy paid $52,000 for a TSX... I'm confused.

You could get a nice 330i for $52,000

Maybe lease rates were a rediculous 8-9% at the time? Or maybe he had negative equity on his trade-in? There has to be _something_ to explain this...

It is possible to spec the TSX into some pretty serious $ range with the A-spec package(just under $5,000), and the  Navi adds about $3,000, 18" alloys are over $3,000 Huh,those 3 items put it over $50,000, before taxes.

Either that, or the wording is incorrect and it should read $530/mo for 23 months + $ __,___   OR  $27,000 straight up.

Doubtful though.

I bet he added every accessory, NAVI, A-SPEC, super extended warranty, rear DVD system, etc.... and had 0 down or negative equity on his tradein.

Mind you, if you work out the cost on a new one... 48 months, $0 down, it works out to about the same bucks (without any negotiation though).  Given that two years ago the rates would have been much higher and he has the skirt pkg and tinted windows, it's not completely outrageous... though I'm sure there are better deals out there.
