See the deal witht these corner store used car lots is they more often than not get the complete leftovers from the auction process. Dealers taking cars on trade have their eyes out for the good ones and keep them because they are easily sold for a profit. The so-so ones go to their "prefered" network of re-sellers bypassing the auction. Could be due to accident history, bad colour, wrong make or model, you name it. Only the trully unwanted cars hit the auctions and this is where these bozos buy their stock, but as proven by johnstonm that's rigged as well. Very, very rarely will you find something worth buying at one of these lots, these kinds of dealers prey on people's non-knowledge.
QAH specifically I remember from when I lived in Brampton, there was one over on Kennedy Rd South. One of my nephew's was after a car and saw what he thought was a decent Camry. When I got there it was a 12 year old rusted POS with bald tires & a cracked windshield that they wanted $2200 for as-is. My words were few for them. I pointed to a mechanic that I knew to be trustworthy 2 doors down and I rubbed out one of the zero's. $220 subject to inspection, only taxes extra and we will take care of the license transfer should the car check out. Summarily refused, we walked.
The attempts earlier in this thread for them to bolster their "image" are laughable.
My guess is they generally cater to the low end of the market i.e. no credit, bad credit, bankruptcy type sales. Either that or they run around to shopping malls putting their license plate frames on people's cars.
