Wing's thread got me thinking, the modding season has begun.  So, with that in mind, here's the new look the Civic will be sporting for summer:

New Eagle Rims and red-painted brake calipers:

A nice improvement over:

Next up:
M3 style LED mirrors
Tint on the back three windows
Muffler (or, if I'm less cheap, cat-back)

And, because all show, no go = lame:
Civic Si mini-me swap (Si cylinder head + DX block)

Nice wheels.  I'm not sure I get why people paint calipers though...
Internal combustion thrust I trust

I figure, you see them anyway, may as well make them look good.  The other end of the argument I guess is if they blend in, you don't see them.  *shrug*

I saw someone with my car and painted Caliper's and thought "gotta do it."  They also had the same gunmetal wheels...  heh.

The older wheels don't look bad but the new ones are very nice.

Another shiny well cared for car is always good to see.

I agree....the new wheels are a step up and have a bit more class to them.  Gettin' good head and you'll get good stroke with that block.  ;)

No worries there...  I like to keep it subtle.  Stickers and carbon fiber don't do it for me...  the sleeper is really where its at, in my humble opinion.

:iagree: Classy is the way to go.

Not like the pink Cavalier with the double hood scoop and two spoilers I saw last week :hurl:

Demo did you paint the calipers yourself? If so how difficult was it?

Painting the calipers wasn't bad.  Took a couple hours all told, just jack the car up and pull the tires and calipers off.  Make sure you clamp your brake lines first, though.  Once they're off its just a matter of cleaning them up (brake cleaner + wire wheel does a good job of it) and spraying them.  In retrospect I wish I'd primed the calipers first, but short of a close inspection they look pretty good.  :)

Small update for today:

Got this stock Si console from a wrecker for $40.  It was in bad shape, so I sanded it, primed it, and painted it...  it could use a couple more coats, but its easy enough to pull out.  You can't see it in this pic, but I had to repaint the rest of the stock centre trim to match (from dark grey).  IMO the black looks waaaay hotter.  What were you thinking, Honda!?  Ah, well...  interior painting to come?  Maybe.

For anyone interested, I used Krylon spray paint...  it sticks pretty good once its dry, and it dries pretty quickly.  Highly recomended for any interior parts you want to paint.  About $5/can for the cheap stuff, $7 can for the 'Krylon for Plastic'.  I used the cheap stuff, but I think next time around I'd spring for the plastic paint.

Also, this is old, but this is the audio setuo I'm running:

Deck is a Pioneer Premier unit.  iPod is a U2 Special Edition.  I'm going to switch over to a cord that will go into the data jack (better sound), and also charge the unit.  I repainted the holder black to match my interior (and the iPod), and now you can barely see it.  :)

That's all for now!

Next up?  Tint at SHC, probably 20-35% on the back windows.  Heading out to Zensport tomorrow to find out more about power windows, and something to spice up the rear end: new muffler?
