Sit in the driver's seat and look over your right shoulder (towards the C pillar). There is one heck of a blind spot.
agreed about the C pillar. 3000 rpms at 100 km/h is completey unacceptable! At that rate you'll be getting extreme nasty mileage wtf was honda thinking of making the 5th gear like that? (35 mpg pegged) My civic only spins at 2600 rpms at 100km/h (40 mpg pegged) and boy its buzzy enough as it is~! Do you think the side skirts and spoiler reduces areodynamic drag to a point where it reduces wind noise? Oh Honda this car could have gotten so much better fuel economy but no... they had to worsen it for those speed freaks. GJ HONDA

You cant really blame Honda, people in NA tends to love more horsepower car. Honda could of just give us the D13 1.3 engine and CVT and call it a day, then you will have much better mileage, but not even 90hp. If Honda choose to design a different more powerful engine and different tranny for NA market, they already done the research and that is what NA people wants. You think Honda will just spend money to change things for the sake of changing it. |

The 3k RPM at 100km/h isn't all that big of a deal. The interior is relatively quiet at that speed, perhaps because of the sound deadening material that lines the hood. |

Yup did this all day today backing out of parking spacing etc etc, I drove around all day with no issues in this spot, visibility is excellent IMO. |

3,000 at 100 sounds high to me too. Reminds me of the '01 Protege ES I drove - over 4,000rpm at 120-something. I thought "no way am I buying this car" as that's not even my normal cruising speed on the highway. The engine would be wearing, mileage would be worse, increased noise... I'd feel like I'm torturing it. The Fit has a 5spd auto... would think it would be better. Maybe the auto is better than the manual? Often times it is. |

Keep in mind this is a 1500cc econohatch. Its not like those E350 with 7-Gronic that gears so low for highway cruising.

I test drove a FIT last week, a 5 speed manual. Here's my likes and don't likes:
Likes:
- Very forgiving clutch. You can make a million mistakes the car won't whiplash you to death. Good car to learn manual on.
- Smooth engine.
- Nice and quiet (maybe too quiet, can't judge rpm by hearing)
- Generous features for price.
- Little window under a-pillar.
Dislikes:
- Clutch too close to brake.
- No power at second gear 3000rpm acceleration (w/ 4 people in car).
- remote keyless entry cost extra for LX.

I checked out the Fit on Sat and was impressed. The Sport trim caught my eye.
I will go back to the dealer to book appt. for a test drive. btw, i don't see any blind spot.
One thing I would like to know is, the optional 16" rim. They look so cool.
Just want to know what others think of a 16" wheel on this car? Will it make
the ride better. Plus will a bigger tire (heavy) affect acceleration?
