A Fit with some options
« on: April 17, 2006, 06:37:54 pm »
Our local Honda dealer optioned out an LX (auto).  16 inch wheels, tinted windows, rear spoiler, and exhaust.  I like the bigger wheels and tinted windows.
I didn't ask how much.

Why he would chose an LX auto for this makeover I don't get...  take a manual, or a Sport with the paddles.  Automatic tranny just does not suit this pseudo-ricer.

That said, it looks good.  I wonder how it performs between the oversized tires and exhaust...  Fit talk is that anything bigger than a 17 on this car bogs it down significantly, even a 16 aint a great idea.  Shame, though, cause they look great.

I assume they're gonna charge the same price as a Sport model?

There's a whole movement of Jazz moders in Japan ... IMO you can expect the same thing here.  It won't be very "big" until you can find used Fits.  Not many ricers will buy a new car at 17 000/20 000$ and pay even more for the mods.

I would like to though my 2 cents in but that would not be fair as I would not buy a car like this

I'm sure we'll see some of the "big names" ricing the Fit pretty quick...  I'm sure there'll be a 200+ hp K20 (RSX-S engine) swap done before long.  That would be a killer ride...  :D  But as a mainstream ricer?  There'll be a few - wealthy kids' first cars, college grads, etc, I'd imagine.

basically those that wanted a Civic Hatchback... or would rather have a modified Fit over a Civic Coupe Si.

I also wondered why they would option out an LX auto.  I'll have to stop in again and ask them what the price is.  Honda.ca lists the wheels, rear spoiler and chrome muffler extender at just under $1900.  I have no idea what the tint job is worth, but I'm sure this optioned out LX will be very close to the price of a Sport.
I'm sure someone will buy it.

More or less, I guess.  We'll certainly see Tein et al. show cars, which should be pretty neat.  As the Fits start to show up as cheapish used cars, though, I'm sure we'll see lots of them riced out.  It's basically going to be in the same spot as the 2000 Civic is right now, I think.  Pick one up for ~$12 000 and uglify it!

I stopped by the local dealer today, they had a Civic with aftermarket wheels on it, but I didn't look closer.  They also only had one Fit, a black auto LX...  good looking little vehicle.  The data sheet still said price TBD, though.  Scared to tell us how much it's going to cost, much?  :lol

Each dealer must of received a few black LX Fits.  Abbotsford has two and my local dealer has one.
A lowered, black Fit with nice wheels and tinted windows would look nice, but I like the dark grey best (and Konig 15 " Holes, with some good rubber).

I remember in the old Fit thread somone posted a picture of a lowered white Fit with tint and white wheels, and I thought "Damn, that's the car I want right there."  Still holds true...

I wonder if the model comes with the car?

And for some reason white is not offered here, which is unfortunate, because the car looks great in white.

I've seen two white Ridgelines ... and that's about it.  Old Civics had white too ... I think!  White has a bad rep for not staying clean very long but we had more then a few white cars in my family and they're no more of a problem than black or dark blue.  They do need a little more attention to look good ... it's not a brown car after all.

I like those dark rims. Plus spoiler and fogs for me please :) But at that point, you might as well get the Sport.

My Acura dealer says that white is quickly becoming the most popular colour of choice for most of their vehicles. Every model in their showroom is white, so maybe that helps convince people.

I've had a couple of white cars, and one black car. White is MUCH better for not showing dirt - IMO.  ;)
