As far as the calmness goes - it was rubbed by a person and not a car - I was at a hockey arena and suspect that some squeezed by with the duffel bag a little to closely.  BTW calm on the outside doesn't mean it's not  :stfu: on the inside.

I appreciate your advice inco - I certainly don't wan't anything harsh.  Since ScratchX is a Meguir's product do you recommend going with one of their waxes or should wax from any manfacturer do the trick?

Certainly appreciate all comments/suggestions provided on the board.

JV

I'd definately recommend Scratch-X.

1. Wash vehicle throughly.  Rinse, dry.
2. Apply Scratch-X as per instructions on the tube.  Use a new towel for all stages of this process, btw.
3. Wash again, rinse, dry.
4. Apply a good polymer sealant (NXT is great), or high quality caranuba (Meguiar's Gold Class is good, too).
5. Crack open a beer and enjoy the shine of the newly-repaired area.
2004 TSX. Lovin' every minute of it!

Scratch-X is good stuff and I have some. I use it with my orbital polisher on my headlights as well.

Umm... I guess that's OK if it works for you. Although Meg's PlastX is much better for the clear plastic. You can really tell the difference when comparing headlights before and after its application.

I like scratch-X, especially for noob use.

Why?  Because its not really aggressive, and, it's a diminishing compound, meaning the more you rub it in, the smaller and less aggressive the particles get, meaning the more it turns from a mild-rubbing-compound, to an ultra-fine polishing compound.  Why is this good?  Because it is nearly impossible for someone to rub through clearcoat or paint with this stuff (unless they are repeating the application numerous times with a new blob of Scratch-X every time!).

I actually have both and they have the same results for me. Perhaps they are the same polishing cream and packaged differently . I polish my bug eye headlights one or twice a year. The plastic lenses are clearer and very clean after the polishing is done. I also run the clay bar over them. It is amazing how dirty and stained headlights get. >:(
