Lets hope it's a good race.

I’m up watching qualifying as well on Speed. JV just put down a good lap. I’m not a fan of the new format. That is why I dislike F1 at time, every year new rules. Why not just have a simple qualifying session with two laps each. I guess it wouldn’t be F1 if it wasn’t complicated and facked up.

Yeah I don't really get the new rules.  Hopefully the race should be OK, until everyone complains when the V10 wins...  :rofl2:

The single "hot" lap format is what they are getting away from...  Being an avid F1 fan for years, I think this new format makes qualifying much more exciting than last years format...  The 12 lap format was great too, not sure why they abandoned it in the first place...

I would like to see the driver vs. the track for two laps with no other cars on the circuit.
Who else is up a 06:30 to watch the race this morning?

The wonders of PVR, I set it to record, got up at 7:00 just backed up to the start, skip all the commercials as they happen and I finish watching the race about same time as live time. No need to get up at 6:15 on a week-end for nothing. It was an interessting race, this year has potential

What a drive by Kimi, he should start from the back all the time.

Very auspicious start to the new season. Looks like it may not be another runaway season. Glad to see Alonso continue were he left off. Kimi had a great drive! Especially when considering how many competitive cars he managed to get past in just a few laps! As for Villeneuve go big or go home! ;D

Great race...looks like Alonso did to Schumacer what Schumacer used to do to his rivals...and Alonso did this with those moving chicanes in the way too! (where the heck are the blue flags?)  :)

And if Rosberg keeps this up, we may have another youngest champion before 2010...

Agreed....  Nice to see the Cosworth pass Ferrari and Toyota powered mid runners with ease...

Good for Williams. With the move to V8’s we will see how long F1 allows the detuned Cosworth V10 to remain if they have too much success. The torque advantage will help with the increased down force.

I like the new qualifying format.  I thought it would be really confusing and would suck.  But it turned out to be very exciting.

Gread drive by Alonso and MS.  It was a very good race.

Kimi had an amazing come-back.  Wow.

Also Rosberg, wowo, fastest lap in his first F1 race in a Williams

The same 3 from last year starting off where they ended.  Kimi, Fernando, and Michael going at it.  Nice to see the young guns going after the old timer.....should make for some very good racing.  The new rule changes seem to make things a little better over last year.  Let's see how the other races turn out.

Schuey was going at with Renualt and Mclaren last year ???  Maybe when they were lapping him...

This year looks to have 4 contenders for the Championship... Renault, Ferrari, Mclaren and Honda... They are all tick for tack...  Willams' times were right on too... They are now looking for podiums...

Toyota has the biggest budget yet can't get results, I hope they step up, I really think it is a driver issue for them.

Top 3 in points last year....still going at it this year.  But Schmuck was nowhere near the 2 big dogs of last year.

Not a driver issue at all... They just can't build a proper F1 car...  This is their 5th or 6th year, and they still have NOTHING to show for it, no progress what-so-ever...  They had a few good races last year, but faded fast at the end of the year...  Their cars have poor aero and not enough engine power...  Even the Toyota engines in the Midlands are dreadfull...  Team Toyota was blaming the Bridgestones, but they seemed to work fantastic for Ferrari and Williams...  Midland is using Bridgestones and had a terrible outing as well, and low and behold, they are using Toyota engines...

I think Williams should think twice when considering Toyota power for '07...
