Morty, will my OZ Racing Superleggeras 17 X 7.5 fit on a 2006/07 STi with winter performance tires? And if they do what do you recommend for Z rated winter tires?  Smiley

I'm guessing but I doubt it, have you seen the brakes on those guys?  The stock wheels barely fit.

The OEM’s are 17”and Subaru now has 17” listed on the website for their Winter Tire Program for the STi. If worse comes to worse I will outfit Wiffy’s Sport Wagon with summer rubber and put winter tires on her OEM 16’s. It would be nice to save a few $ and use the OZ’s for my winter tires on the STi.

Size doesn't matter Tongue  Offset is key in this one, the brake issue isn't the height it is the thickness, possibly with spacers they would fit.

So when you getting an STi?

From what I can recall the off-set is fine, I just want to verify. I will wait until June to place an order for an ’07 STi and it will show up in September or October. Hopefully since this is the last run on the current platform Subaru may offer some type of “Special Edition” as a parting gift.

Are these SuperLs on your current WRX? If so, I don't think it has the same PCD as the 06/07 STi.
The STi is now 5x114 I believe. Our older WRX is 5x100.

Sorry you Superleggeras will not clear the caliper. Not really the offset that is important, but the shape of the back of the spokes. Just not enough clearance for those big ass brakes. You can find a few 17" wheels that will fit, but not a lot.

One "cheap" choice would be the Rota wheels...I know TireTrends do not sell these and I am sorry for even mentioning it here but it is not bad a choice...sorry TireTrend!

The Rota Torque II (which looks kinda like the Prodrive P1) is available in 17x7.5 et48 (5x114.3) that is verified to fit the newer STi is around USD170 or so. I know it is a knockoff but the quality seems pretty good...

Are the Rota rims heavy?  How do they compare to the factory BBS?

The Rotas are remarkably light...

The original Torque in 17x7 5x100 is about 18-19lbs IIRC. The Prodrive P1 which it imitates is over 20lb...but of course the Prodrive is probably built much tougher to handle rally usage...

I help weigh a Rota C8 15x6.5 and it was only 12lbs or so...

I know someone that just picked up an STi and couldn't find winter wheels so he is using his stock ones for the rest of this winter.  $554 is cheap for sure!
