Yay Congrats also!

Why do you need to sell the S2K? It can fit a child, just don't let the wife come along too...  Tongue

I second that. If the wife has to come along, use the GV.

Just an observation, don't think the dude likes FWD cars, why try to pass the love for the new ultimate RICE King, aka Civic Si?

yeah, FWD is pretty much out.....even though I am liking the looks of the new GTI - I think that would be my last pick of the list I gave - at least it has HID's Grin

Child in the s2k is a big no no - passenger airbag cannot be disabled, so that's out of the question.  I'm hoping to get a lot of stick time on the s2000 this year.  I drive it every day to work  (even in the winter) and with the new little guy, maybe my wife will send me solo to get groceries (I'll take the long way of course) so she can stay home and rest.

I think I've been convinced to "ride out the storm" and see how it goes keeping the s2k.  If it becomes a real problem, then, and only then, will I consider getting rid of it.  And no I'd never get an 06 - 8000 rpms and TCS - gimme a break Wink

If you're planning for the future, think about what will happen.  You say wife will be off work for a year, then what?  How will you handle child care?  With our kids, both my wife and I have both cars fully equipped was

For the money involved I would look at the New CTS Caddie from GM. They are a super nice car with a lot of excellent points going for it. The parts should be a little cheaper then the rest and these cars are very highly rated. They sure liked them at the Nurenburg track. Congrats to you and your wife for the family soon to be. I hope everything goes well on the blessed day.  Smiley

If you're planning for the future, think about what will happen.  You say wife will be off work for a year, then what?  How will you handle child care?  With our kids, both my wife and I have both cars fully equipped (was 1 baby seat and one booster seat in each vehicle).  I've seen too many couples where they have to make sure that the baby seat is left with the baby, because depending on schedules, the same parent may not be picking the child up.

Depending on what's in your future, you may want both vehicles child-equipped.  And four doors is far, far better than 2.

And as I just learned:  make sure your kids full close the bloody car doors when they get out.  We've been away for most of the weekend to a hockey tournament, and I just had to have my car boosted, because someone forgot to close her door, and we haven't been home enough to notice the light was on!!!!!!!!!!  275,000 km, and the only time I need a boost is in my own bloody garage.  Where are those stupid cables, anyway?HuhHuhHuh?

Congrats.  Get all the sleep you can now.  Smiley

Keep the S2000 and worry about it when it is no longer practical to own it.

Keep what you got.  I have 1 child, another coming in June...and I have one primary family hauler.  My 2nd vehicle doesn't have a car seat, and I don't expect to put one in it either.  We do OK with such an arrangement.....see if it works out for you....rather than sell something you like to drive....only to find that you didn't have to.

I would go with the ’05 STi. Proven and reliable 300 HP performance combined with AWD agility make it a perfect family sedan Grin . There are good deals on Legacy GT’s as well.

 I Agree

But as others have said, I'd wait to see how things shape up with keeping the S2k.  That'd be extremely hard to part with, even with such a wonderful addition to your family (says the guy without kids).  Smiley
